    Guide To Performing CPR!

How To Give CPR In Case Of Emergency's

    What is CPR?
CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Basically CPR is to be used when the heart stops beating, you perform a mouth-to-mouth breathing method, as well as a external cardiac compression's to make sure that the Oxygen Blood keeps circulating the body.

    What is DR ABC?
    DR ABC stands for: Danger,Response,Airway,Breathing,Circulation
In order you are to follow these 5 steps:

Danger: Check for any that may endanger you or the victim

    Response:
Tap the victims collar bone hard, 5-6 times, and shake them. Talk to the victim, ask for his/her name. If there's no response move onto the next step

    Airway
: Place the victim on there back, using your left hand place it on the victim's forehead and place your right hand on the victim's chin. Genitally tilt the head forward whilst pulling the jaw in a upwards and forwards motion. This should lift the tongue up from the back of the throat, clearing the Airway. Also use two finger's inside the mouth to check if there is any substance's inside such as vomit, saliva etc..

Breathing: If the victim still proceeds not to breath, then you must perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

    Circulation:
Check for a pulse on the victim in either the neck or wrist. If the victim needs CPR then it's advised to not check this step and continue on with CPR until help arrives.

    Scenario Example:
You come across a person who was pulled out of the water, you squeeze there Collar Bone to see if they are conscious, but you find they are un-conscious and not breathing. What should you do?

    Performing CPR

    Step 1:
Check that the surroundings you are in is safe enough to help the victim. Get somebody to dial your country's emergency number, DO NOT PANIC, panicking causes stress to the brain which does not make you think clearly. If victim is not on his/her back gently turn them over onto it.

    Step 2:
Follow the steps of DR ABC, Tilt the victims head back and jaw forward listening for breathing. If the victim is not breathing, with 2 finger's hold the nose closed and cover the mouth with your lip's tightly seeling off any air escaping.
    Blowing Position
    [IMG]

    Step 3:

Blow until you see the chest of the victim rise. Give 2 breaths. Each breath should take 1 second intervals. Should the victim awake, stop, hold the victim's head up straight, allowing him/her to breath.

    Step 4:
If the victim is still not responding to breathing normally begin chest compressions. Push down on the chest 23 times (adult) 7 times (child) right between the victim's nipples. Do this at 100/minute.

    Pump Position[IMG]<<<>>> [IMG] Hand Position

Step 5: Should the victim pull through the CPR, you must tilt his/her head up onto your knee's (when kneeling) which will allow the victim to breath more easily. Talk to the victim tell him/her to "keep calm" and that "everything is going to be ok" and wait until help arrives.

    Step 6:
If the victim is still not breathing, keep doing compressions until further help arrives at the scene, once help arrives step out of the way and they will take it from there.

    You Must:

-Stop if you are to exhausted to proceed any further
-Stop if a more experienced medical person comes to the scene
-Stop if the victim becomes conscious again

This table below shows how many compressions you do on /Infant's/Children/Adults. It also provides how deep you push into the chest, and how long for.

    Occupation Health And Safety

Before trying to help the victim in need, you must think of these tips:
-Always make yourself safe, before making others safe
-Check the surrounding around you.. Low tree branches/sticks/rocks etc
-Never approach somebody if you are going to endanger yourself
-If you find a victim stressed, never approach them. Stay 5-10meter's away from them, and tell them to "Keep Calm", "Please Calm Down"

Please Be Aware That The Rule's For Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Can Change At Any Time.

I am open for opinions about my guide, I know a CPR guide was recently made by another former sythe member, not many people thought it was up to scratch, This is why I went ahead and tried one of my own. Criticism and Praise is all welcome here. How else am i going to learn without feedback?

You've still got one thing wrong. You must not just talk to them for Response, you have to tap the collar bone hard, 5-6 times, and shake them.

    Other than that, nice.

    Another thing:

    - If you approach someone from the feet and then walk or stand over them, they CAN SUE for harrassment/ attempted GBH/ABH. It happened to a guy at our cadets LOL

ALWAYS STAY SAFE AND BE CAREFULL.

    Guide To Performing CPR!

Ty mate. There was once a scene happened last 2 months ago that a guy was drowning and later was unconcious. However, he was forunate and was saved by a lifeguard. He gave him a CPR, and everyone cheered for the guard. Again, this is an important and critical guide.

I noticed you did not mention that when performing CPR on an Infant (1 year and under) you should not tilt their head back as it can cause damage to their muscles.

I think you should have not posted guides like this. Little kids might try this and practice this.

If you really know how CPR works then you know how dangerous it is to make errors when you try it. Also to practice when not needed. Such information as this should be kept to experts only.

preforming CPR without certification can actually result in you getting sued. If they are dieing on the floor and tell you no help then they can sue you even if you did. Only situation is when they are unconcious or give consent. But no certification= most likely trouble.

Well done, but if you don't have a license to do CPR and the person ends up dying your a in a big shit hole.

Anyway, like I said it was very good. :p, Of course I won't attempt to try this out though. :X ( Don't want to go to jail :S)
