Pirating? Wrong or Right?

lets use music piracy for example. It costs money to rent a studio, it costs money to run that studio. It costs money to hire people to do various things that go along with making that music. You can sell creativity even if its a compilation of sounds and words, you like it otherwise you wouldn't steal it, and you steal it because you don't have it( creativity that is).

 

It's their fault if they expect to make money from it. I'm not required to fork it over so that they can pay off their debts.

 

Piroting is only put-down because people lose profits when they can't sell CD's.
It's possible that they only make 20 bucks because someone buys their CD, rips the songs, puts them on the internet and EVERYONE gets the songs from him instead of the CD.

I have already stated that if you wanted it and couldn't steal it as you do because pirating is stealing as I have already confirmed as well. you would buy it. because obviously if you steal it by illegally downloading it, you want it. In which you would pay for it. maybe not in the mass amounts that you download but eventually you would buy them all .

Even if I would, potential money is not the same thing as money lost. Whether I pirate or not, the amount of money that they gain/lose is the exact same - $0.

I don't think that there is a right answer to this question. It will be different to everybody depending on the set of morals that they live their life by.

You haven't proven any point. Allow me to repeat myself:

1). I would not buy most software if I was unable to pirate it. Photoshop, language learners, etc. are bloody expensive.

2). Even if I were to buy the software I could not pirate, there is a huge difference between money that the company had, and lost, and money that they could have made, but didn't.

I think it's perfectly fine. The people that make these songs/videos or what ever are making millions! So why should they care about a few songs, they richer than most people will ever be.

The issue isn't whether they can afford it - its whether music can be considered property or not.

The amount of work put into the music is irrelevant. What we are discussing here is whether music is property - whether you can own a concept.

 

It has good and bad points. People put hard work on creating songs and then it's downloaded for free. I wouldn't support pirating if I would have more cash.

 

My thoughts are that if you have seen it in the movies, You have a right to pirate a copy of the DVD. Why should you pay to see the film twice tbh ?

Well, I think that pirate DVDs should be sold in shops and should be made legall, but then I think we would have all the commotion of crap copys and no refund policys.
