Are computer games ruining peoples lives?

everyone has free will, if some people decide to use it on computer games you must leave it to them even if it is "ruining their lives"

 

I mean it helps alot with depression too.

 

Yes, RuneScape ruined lives. Period.

 

I agree, it's quiet the distraction from reality.

 

People can become addicted to anything. You either have that trait or you don't. If it weren't games, it could quite easily be something a lot worse.

 

It helps by depression you know

 

100% we are all becoming dopamine addicts to the highest degree....soon we will all have severe depression.

 

Gaming is fine, however not 24/7 and you should not waste your activities irl for gaming.

Moderation is key.

If you spend your school days and evenings playing video games instead of doing sports or going out with friends and having a chat, you'll end up less socially developed in the long run. Even if you are playing everyday with friends, your unconscious part of the brain is not picking up body language signs or micro-expressions.

So keep gaming but with a time limit.

Personally, Sunday is bed day for me and I spend it playing vidya. On other days I don't play.
