Let's talk about how I lost my main..

So I'll start with the TL;DR up top, basically I traded gold between accounts via staking a few times, then just traded the rest, this resulted in my main perm banned for RWT, however my alt didn't even get a warning. Anyway..

Maybe this can help the community out and we can look at how maybe jagex systems are detecting RWT, but I did purchase some gold, roughly 40m we'll say, from a reputable seller on here, it went from his account to my alt via regular trading, and then about 15m from my alt to my main via a few stakes (not sure why i did this, i think i was just curious about the "new to me" staking system) and then the rest was just traded over. The next day my main was banned, however my alt didn't get any marks, and the gent who sold me the gold also didn't get anything. I've bought gp for over a year from various people and never had an issue, mostly through straight trades and for much larger sums than 40m.

How do we think this happened? I'd like to think I set off some red flags by transferring via stakes and then trading, but I feel like being on the same IP that shouldn't be an issue? Also this happened about two months ago and I was in a hotel playing, so no ties to my actual home equipment. I've since tried to get my account back and they aren't budging.

 

That's pretty crazy. I don't know where you went wrong.

If you're transferring to yourself why not just trade it?

 

I had read a few posts about how they changed the staking system and you couldn't do bigger amounts, so I was seeing how it worked because the last time I was at the duel arena was the old staking system, I didn't try to circumvent the process or anything, really just dabbled. I'm assuming that's what got me in trouble though.

 

Any time I have bought gold I just get it traded to me and I never have been banned.

 

Bought around 1.5b on my main total over the year, however biggest trade was probably 200M at one time which was all done F2P lummy bank (lol), all came from the same seller. Never once been banned.

Recently bought services via RSGP which was traded directly to a gold buyer, who confirmed with the service provider gold had been paid, total was around 85m again no ban.

2 days ago sold 450M to a gold buyer, 50M to a friend and still account free of any ban.

I think you were really unlucky?

 

Sometimes it happens. There is actually also a rule with Jagex saying that you are not allowed to interact with your other accounts
by yourself (multi logging) for an unfair advantage (trading gold)

It's a scary situation when buying/selling gold & transferring it, these things are rare but they do happen.
