Still if someone steals a ton of stuff and you know it is stolen and you buy it therefore it is now yours and you have broken the law..

Yea I am willing to buy stolen material because how they obtained is up to them. I myself did not break the law.

It is against the law to buy the product if you know it is illegal, if your caught with them it is your responsibility.

How do I know if it is stolen? I could easily tell the police, I didn't know and they wouldn't be able to prove it cause I have no relation to the seller.

Well I doubt they would believe you just like that...

Also it is not about being able to get in trouble or being caught...

But the simple fact is it is wrong but people still do it.

Nah, morals don't stand up in court. Only real evidence ;).

Like I said originally, the concept is wrong. But I purchase it legit, so it's right in my case.

The law is there to protect the idea's of people, as people have stated before without a reason to create something (ie a source of income) there wouldn't be even close to as much if any at all) If you do not like the laws then don't buy the music, but this also means not to steal the music either.
The only right you have to it when you buy it is to allow others to listen to the product not mass produce it, it is the same as money and I am sure you would agree it is wrong to make fake money, without a source of balance the world would be in more chaos then it already is.

Guess what if you know or not means nothing in court, just like if you're in a car and someone steals something and you get caught, you are an accomplice regardless if you knew or not. so you in fact are breaking the law.

He most definitely did not win.

    Pirating? Wrong or Right?

    How is it stealing?

Irrelevant. The amount of music produced in the industry does not affect whether or not pirating is moral.

Ownership is not conditional. You either own something, or you don't. If you own it, it is your property to do with whatever you wish.

Music is not the same as money, it is exchanged for money. Also, the situations of pirating music and counterfeiting money are completely different.

You know what? I'm a torrents and LimeWire fanatic. I can't get enough of them. I think it is right as long as you don't sell what you pirate for person gain, like money or something else that benefits you.

Shredder, it is stealing because whenever you do this the company looses money... which is stealing...

If I pirate, the company loses the same amount of money as if I were to not bother myself with them at all - potential money.

Pirating for yourself is not wrong. Pirating for profit is wrong.

Exactly, companies don't lose any money due to piracy. Usually expensive programs like Photoshop or Sony Vegas, no one's going to buy them normally anyways.

No, that's wrong. Companies do lose some money because of piracy, as some people would end up buying the products if they couldn't pirate them. The figures they release as "lost profit/sales" are bollocks though.
