report a scammer

i highly suggest we get a mod or mods to give that section the time of day. threads sit there forever of someone scamming. i dont know if the mods are too lazy to read them or to scared to make decision i dont know. but as you can see sometimes multiple users post thread PROVING that someone has scammed and neither of the threads either user posted was even looked at. wtf guys. so many scammers are just running around because your not patroling it.

You try being a mod for a week. I'm sure they have a life other than Sythe. And no, mods are not lazy. Inactive mods are demoted. There are a lot of threads but after about 3 days at the most I see that they have been sorted.

 

i understand that. but you can look at the posts and see where a mod hs posted on a thread a day before the other, can we not have mods who are just for report a scammer. think about all the scammers who get reported once and keep scamming until someone does something about it, which could be" 3 days" later.

 

Here's what my guess of a reply will be:

1. It takes a lot of work to ban someone
2. A lot of people already suggested this
3. The more you ask, the less people start to care
4. No mod would want to be an RaS mod :/

Anyways, considering the moderator:user count is roughly 1:5000, it's not the easiest thing to do.

 

It takes at least 5+ minutes to ban someone with not so good proof. At least 2 minutes with really good proof, and 30 seconds to lock a thread with text logs.

Now there are 100 threads. How long do you think that would take us all to do?

Now since its your fault you people are getting scammed in the first place (95% of the time). I do think you can stop complaining so much because the staff do have other things to do in real life, and others. I will try to do as much as I can tonight

Yeah I think they really are trying cuase I know they are supposed to complete so many a day. But yeah I think its going good enough just use a MM. I want the scammers band too but 99% of the time they just come back with a different name.

 

We should have a "Scam Police" mod who focuses just on the "Report A Scammer" forum.

 

Yeah, or something almost like a jury duty thing where members can decide on it or have Scam police like you said But I would call it Judge Banhamer and there job is basically just to ban scammers and be the judge of it. Of course they would have to be very fair, and knowledgeable.

 

Mods job are hard and listen everyday theres people that registered this months selling stuff we need to ban them seriously its obvious there scammers.

A guy that has 10 posts registered aug 2008 or july comes here trying to sell accounts and scams ppl

 

my young padawan... if you want to report a scammer there is a section.... mods CANT check all threads looking for scammers. when you post there... normally a mods post in like an hour or less
