Extremely slim. Jagex tend to go after the sellers rather than the buyers.

 

Buy the hell out of it.

In most cases, as long as you're not making any market shifting moves you'll be fine.

I wouldn't "nickel and dime" the market on a frequent basis with tiny amounts - But buying decent amounts periodically, I believe you'll be A-Okay.

 

Haven't really bought gold, but I've sold quite a bit to websites and I've had one mule banned in like two years (may have been my own fault I sometimes log into bot accounts on my mule's ip).

 

Jagex is smart, if a player is buying gold he's also more then likely a dedicated pay 2 play member. Jagex needs their money so they won't ban the buyer. The seller however is either retiring, nothing, etc so bans will happen

 

Very low. I've never been banned and I've been buying gold occasionally for about 6 years. I think if you avoid constantly buying huge suspicious amounts you're pretty safe. It also depends on who you're buying from, I'd advise to stick with experienced and trusted gold vendors, they know how to maximize safety and security. When you're buying from unknown or inexperienced vendors, the gold origin could be from a bot farm, maybe credit card fraud with bonds, you never know, and when it has an origin like that it will increase the odds of getting banned/your gold removed heavily.

 

I just recently had a 15 year old P2P account (multiple phats, etc.) banned for RWT. I purchased 1500M and it was the first time I had ever bought anything RWT.

Bad luck? Maybe. It does happen though.
