A person should have a choice if they want to live or die, Yet us humans can't play god, I believe euthanasia is for a good cause, But Who let us choose to live or die. It could even be considered Immoral , Yet at the same time Moral.

oh ok so we are just taking the body out on LOAN from god are we??!!?? by your rules we should PRAY to god and ask what we are allowed to eat/drink/see/hear. I never realised just how narrow minded some christians are until i met the 10 year old brainwashed christian kids on these forums.

earth too dick head. the body is CREATE by human produced products, sperm and ovaries. Thus, technically making OUR body th eproperty of our parents
just GTFO of my topic. Countries are NOT ru nbased on relikgion, things used to go that way and in case you noticed the stupid fuck8ign catholics ended up waging wars on the rest of the world. e the reasonons religion IS NOT used as a basis for a countries laws.
You ever thought of writing your own philosophical quotes <3

    Euthanasia

What is everyone’s stand on the controversial subject of euthanasia or “Death with dignity”? Or saying it in different, more blunt terms, “Let’s go and put down Grandpa like we did to the doggie! He’s no use to us anymore!”? Yes…unfortunately that is all that euthanasia is…suicide because we feel that the elderly or mentally disabled people are no use, waste of time, waste of space. I stand firmly against it, but I was wondering what other people thought about the matter? Please post. I want to know what people think and why they think that way.

You obviously have not done your research on this topic. Euthanasia was originally the act of ending the life of someone in great pain that did not want to endure their pain anymore in a painless manor. The intentions of legal euthanasia is not to "kill someone because they are a waste of time and space and only hinder our daily lives." I'm not saying that immoral Euthanasia doesn't occur in the world, you just state it as though all practices of Euthanasia are evil.

esteban--maybe you are right...but this "legal" euthanasia...what will it lead to? What HAS it lead to? It is all part of the culture of death that includes abortion. A doctor has no right to take the life of a person-and a person has no right to take their own life, but they have the free will to do so.

Since you brought up abortion, what if you were a girl, lets say 16, living a very busy life. Let's say you get raped and become pregnant. You do not want to manage raising a kid, let alone to the extremely hard process of raising the baby inside of you. What do you do?

I think if she was raped, she should choose. But if she had consensual [if thats how you spell it] sex, then she should keep it.

Since you changed the subject, i assume that you are stuck in the euthanasia topic, but about the abortion thing...
the 16 year old girl has to have the baby...its a living creature--a human being. im not saying she has to bring the baby up...she can get someone else to help. aborting the baby would be murder, a greater crime then rape.

The reason murder is illegal is because it involves killing people, not living creatures. Fetuses and braindead humans aren't people, they're just living bodies. Why not "murder" them?

As for euthanasia, I think it should be legal in circumstances where the individual has signed a contract at a time he was in a fit state of mind, allowing the euthanasia to go ahead.

Basically, it has to somehow be ensured that scheming relatives can't decide that they want grandpa dead because they consider him a waste of space/want the inheritance.

All living creatures should only be killed if they give consent.

I don't see how you can deny a rational being control over their own body. If I want to end my life, what right do you have to stop me?

the decision is from the elderly, the choose to end thier own life, not us wanting to get rid of old people...

If someone is in so much pain constantly and have no way of getting better and are dieing anyway, they should be able to take there own life. To not is to make them suffer. The government doesnt like it because they want to be the only one that can kill people.

It is our own life, we should be able to put it out of eternal pain if we want to.

    Euthanasia

I do this debate so often i'm quite sick of it.

But I support Voluntary Euthanasia, if they have signed the Advance Medical Directive.

Euthanasia though, goes FAR beyond your description and frankly, you have limited it so much by choosing to only discuss Voluntary Euthanasia wile the person is concious.

That's medically called Assisted Suicide. And Euthanasia is only controversial when the person is unconsious, and another person has to make the desicion.

Oh jesus christ.. Are you serious?

    Who controls your body?You
Who gives your body the nutrients it needs to survive? You
Who can take their own life with a bullet? You
    Who doesn't exist?God

But back on to the topic- I think that if you are terminally ill and you are tired of suffering you should be able to have them kill you. Why not? It's your life.
