[Guide] Safety Guide To Cycling [Guide]

    Safety Guide To Cycling
    ______________________________________

Introduction - Hey, this is my seventh guide so far. After getting back from my small holiday, I realised that my guide, "How To Be A Good Citizen" had been accused of guide ripping and was full to the brim with spam. I did not know that the thing I did was ripping (Re-Writing + Adding). I'm carrying on with my guide though, no matter what people think.

I have now been told by some User Educators my chances of getting in are now very slim. Though, Merchant Of Crystal Tears has convinced me to carry on writing. Thanks mate. Anyway, this is my beginners guide to riding a bike. As in Bike riding and Cycling, etc. This will tell you things like safety on a bike, protective gear and much, much more.

This guide is not ripped. Don't even bother searching this information, I know the punishment and I am willing to take it. All I'm trying to sum up is that because of my last guide benign supposedly "ripped" and getting horrible ratings you can be re-assured this is clean and legit. I'll move onto the guide now though, trying to finish this fairly quickly.

For Cycling, you may want to wear Safety Equipment, for safety purposes mainly. Most kids/teenagers will probably think that this is crap, and there's no point. I honestly do think the same thing, I don't want to be riding with my mates wearing all this protective gear. Yeah, you'll stand out, but seriously, I sometimes regret not wearing some.

I've been in many accidents while riding my bike or BMX. Some have been from simply not thinking. Eg: Going down a hill at extremely fast speeds, I wobbled, panicked and slammed on my two brakes. I did a full front-flip and rolled all the way back now the hill. Others accidents can happen, like doing stunts and they go completely wrong, read more bellow.

For an example of a little stunt gone wrong read the following segment. Mi and my mates have a field really far down the road (takes anywhere from 30 minutes - 1 Hour to get there). It's full of junk, including and old, worn out car. We put a ramp in front of the car. I went down on my bike, went flying over the ramp, clipped the car and I was literally flying.

I came to a crash, while still rolling down the hill. I had properly twisted my ankle and my two arms where bleeding as hell, since I came down (after my little flying experience) into shit loads of junk. It left a massive gash right in my arm. Fucking killed. But anyway, enough about that. The next paragraph will be about items that could help you out a lot.

Information - All cyclists are strongly recommended to wear Helmets as they can save you from many accidents, maybe even your life. When ever you go out to ride your Bike/BMX (etc) you should always wear these. Especially if you know your going to be doing stunts or something of the kind, bash your head and you feel horrible, I know.

Information - Shin Pads can be a life saver, literally. Ever fall off your bike and scratched/heart you knee or leg in some way? I sure have and I wouldn't use the word "hurt" as it was 10x worst. These are also recommended, if buying. Make sure there comfortable and tough. There like the two things you'd look for.

Information - I'll start off with a little fact, mostly everyone around the world would use there hands to stop them if fallen. Which is also why the arm is the most broken bone in the world. So, gloves can be useful from landing on anything. They may not protect you from breaking a bone and stuff but can sure help from stuff on the surface you land on.

Information - This is really a protective suit if you want to ride with high precautions. There are other smaller suits which others may like if they don't want to look too over-protective. This was the only decent picture I could find, hence why I used it. Mostly, these are thick and very light-weight to make it easy to ride and very protective.

Introduction - Fluorescent jackets are probably the most important piece of Cycling equipment, along with the helmet. It's almost essential to were this piece of clothing when on you Bike at night. This will make you visible to cars (etc) around you. Making in much safer to stop from getting run over and other things.

These are hand signals which can be used on roads. If there is a car and he doesn't know which way your going to turn (while your on your bike) he may panic. That's why you use these. Depending on the Hand Signal used, three are for meaning turning and the other on means slow down or stop. Read more about this bellow.

    • Number One - Right Turn.
    • Number Two - Left Turn.
    • Number Three - Another Right Turn.
    • Number Four - Slow Down or Stop.

And that's that. I know this may not be as long as my other guides but I'm pretty busy at the moment but I may add more to this in a later time. Hope you liked this guide and it maybe will make up for the previous one. Please rate from 1-10 and leave a short/long comment, etc. And that's the end of my thread.

Checked, and it is not ripped. It was purely made by him.

As for the guide, it's good. The layout is great and well organized.
