Living forever would be sweet but the world is already over populated as is. The Earth was not meant to have over 1Billion people. If the population grows without death soon the world will be over populated you'd be living side by side and fighting for food.

No one has watched the video yet, I can tell. It's as if one has even read my post. The fallacious arguments and concerns most of you posted are more than sufficiently addressed in that video.

I think there would be more neutral and open-minded people on a philosophy forum. However, everyone is entitled to their opinions..

Living forever is one thing.. I wouldn't mind eternal youth though. Probably around 16-23. They say 21-23 is our prime so I would probably be in that area.

If I could, I would live for thousands of years. Only if I could preserve my body and mind though.

I too value the pursuit of knowledge above all things. And yet I am limited by my lifespan. Already I know that it's likely I am to die early. Men in my family only live to see their mid 50s and some only their 40s. One has made it to the 60s. It is sad that I cannot learn all that I wish to learn, and do all that I wish to do.

Some call it selfish, and if this is selfish, then the same can be said for everyone who goes to college. The same can be said for those who get their degree to advance themselves. The only people fit to call others selfish are those with no personal goals or possessions, and most likely, someone with no ambition.

Passing away is a natural rythym of life, whilst it would be nice if we could all life forever, we could not function as a race as ultimately there are limited resources on our planet, and that of other planets.

Agreed to that. Also, immortality is physically possible, but you would still eventually die no matter what from accidents, or people trying to kill you.

How does one person say the world is going to end in 2012, yet in another thread they believe its possible to live forever. The world must come to an end one day. On the other hand who would want to live forever in a world that would be unlivable after a few hundred years from now. Violence and war. Who would want to live through 10 wars. It would be terrible. Population would increase so much also that eventually all livable places will be occupied.

I'm sorry, but I strongly disbelieve in Immortality, and if it exsisted, I'd be glad it did.

However, I only think of immortality when it comes to my Grandfathers lifespan (he's quite ill).

If I'd believe in Indefinite Lifespans, i'd morally lower myself to believeing in Santa Claus (well.. maybe not that low ^_^).

Also, you believe that earth has been around THAT long, and nobody has figured out how to perfect their exsistance? Oh well, i'm not going to continue my neverending, non-breathless ranting.

    :D Think about it ^_^ !

I see spam, as spam comes. You, spam.

Yes, "rly", The question of "Can I live to 100? To 200? Maybe 5000?", is an serious question, even though some idiots like yourself (I'm judging you by your current post) can't seem to understand, or commentate on such an subject.

I think this is a good idea. I doubt that many people would have the desire and the cash to do this, so overpopulation wouldn't be a problem. And hey, the population is already going out of control and the average human lifespan is around 68.

Other than that I think it will give humans more time to expand their wisdom. And with more wisdom in the world, they could teach it to the young and humanity's overall intelligence will go up. And then people will be smart enough to solve many of the world's problems. With a larger lifespan, a person will have more time to see and experience the world, and from this he/she will be able to understand more about life and will be able to clearly tell right from wrong.

And to all the people saying "omg liek ther will b too many pplz." Look at how many people we have right now, and how fast that number is going up, and we as a human race don't even care enough to do anything about it.

I think it is possible, but it will lead to over population and depletion of resources fast.

If suck technology come into use what will happen when we are 400 years old and have lung disease, cancer, aids, and all those diseases..

People if they could cure cancer and stuff then yes we could live for a longer amount of time because they have a technique to wipe your memories to the point that you don't know who you are, where your from, or how old are you..
You wont be able to talk speak or walk..

You will have to learn all this over again.
Its a painful process although but im sure people would do it even though it has a chance of killing you or immobilizing you for the rest of your life.

Forget about the forum and the video. There is a gift of eternity, and that is from Jesus Christ the Lord!

Life is a gift, and a burden. What do you suppose your goal would be in living forever? I say finish your business and pass away. We need new fresh minds to populate our home. We need to die eventually , i think we're given a decent amount of time on earth, accept it.

I SAY.. living forever is impossible, it's natural for human beings to die, and before long if you are eternal, you would eventually take your own life without a doubt. Living forever sounds like a good idea now, but what will you think about it at 150 years old, when doing the same thing all the time becomes boring and having sex and eating and everything else that goes with living life gets boring and too repetitive, you'll eventually take your own life.

I would never want to live forever, in my mind after a good 120 years I would then be in external suffering.

Only reason that I'd want to live for a long time would to be able to see technology develop.

I watched the video, everything is pretty interesting and it is definetly possible, but I wouldn't want to live "forever".

If it was possible to hit the restart button on life when you're 500, I'd support it.
