Shredderbeam why do you require evidence? Does every single thing in the world have to have evidence? God is obviously not a man sitting in the sky, but rather the very belief of god is god, or the force that keeps everything in the world going.

    The Existence of God

Your statement says that god doesnt exist, that god is nothing more then a belief. and yes everything needs evidence, otherwise it doesnt exist.

Why do you except things that dont have evidence?

So your saying we come to earth, do God's work, and then die with no reward/punishment for what we've done? I think not. You can't just live to have no real future.

So how did the Big Bang happen? Out of nowhere? (That's why I'm agnostic atm and not atheist.)

    How do you know?

I didn't say that we did God's work.

Causation implies time, which did not exist before the Big Bang.

    Dear Shredderbeam,

If god does no exist, and there is nothing after this life, then why do you exist? Why do you go through education? Why do you wake up every morning? Why?

I find life to be inherently enjoyable and worthwhile - all the more so because it will end one day.

But don't you get it? You are living for nothing, all the good deeds you do count towards nothing, why not just end your life now?

Exactly what I'm saying. And shredder, I didnt say you did say we were doing god's work, that's just my personal opinion.

In responce to your "How do you know":

I know because of the church. Billions of people who come together and do great things for humanity. Who are here just to make the world a bit brighter. They all have feelings inside them that cannot be explained. An urge to do good, an urge put there by God.

And now i'de like to ask you to explain this:

At my church, we have a man who used to have AIDS. When he did, we prayed and prayed for him, and now he is aids free. And not just from medicine, because there is no real cure for AIDS. Other than God, of course.

If there is no god i'de like for you to explain to me what happened there. Did the AIDS just get up and walk away? I think not.

All his good deeds could postive effect people after he is dead. Why would he want to end his life now if he believes there is no afterlife?

If you think there is a afterlife, why don't you end your life so you can go there?

They count towards my happiness and the happiness of others. I find that to be enjoyable. While it lasts, why shouldn't I take advantage of this?

In any case, the "depression level" of atheism is irrelevant to whether or not God exists.
