Why?

Ever since last year, I have noticed the earth revolves, and I just want to know why?

This is not a joke.

 

I agree, someone explain an atheist theory that describes why this is.

 

I've honestly been wondering the same.. Anyone knoww..?

 

No, like, why does it spin? Why not jump up and down? Or just not spin, etc.?

 

Erm..

 

So the earth gets evenly heated so that life can flourish. Kind of like a routissere.

If it didn't rotate (spin) it would be to hot for life on one side, and to cold for life on the other side.

ok allow me to try and explain. before this galexy was a galexy it was dust. slowly but surely the dust clumped together. this formed the sun. since the sun contantly fuses atoms it releases a lot of energy. that pushed all of the lighter elements away (jupiter). the rockier elements stayed close (earth). then the bigger rocky elements started to have smaller particles revolve around them. once the small particles hit the big pieces, they caused it to spin. that would explain why the earth spins. the reason the earth spins around the sun is much the same reason only on a much larger scale.
learned this in science last year but its a little fuzzy now that its almost a new school year
