    Mars....Our next home?

Well I've been watching a documentary about Mars. It's called Mars underground.
Well anyways there's this scientist named Dr. Robert Zubrin is one of the most outspoken of these is, a maverick aerospace-engineer and author known as the "Christopher Columbus of Mars".

For years, Zubrin has been designing and promoting a humans-to-Mars expedition, not as venture for the far future or one that will cost us impossible billions, but as a goal that could be attained within ten years. He sees continuing expeditions to Mars eventually leading to colonization and a second home for humanity through a process known as "terraforming" - turning Mars into a viable blue planet.

This is how we could terraform Mars? Well since Mars is a very cold place (temperature is regularly -63 degrees C) You might think its too cold for us to live there but we could heat the planet up, how you might ask well we're doing it in here on Earth by raising the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and put other gases as well.this would work terrificly. Well since the temperature is now warmer the ice on Mars will start to melt and this will create lakes and eventually Oceans. Also the atmosphere on mars will start to thicken because of the carbon dioxide and other gases and this will trap more heat and protect us from Sun storms.

Now since there's little air on Mars you might also think thats another reason. Well we could solve that too, we could put plants to live on Mars. Since it has a lot carbon, the plants have no competition so they will spread and since plants absorb Carbon dioxide to create oxygen, Mars could be a breathable place. Mars will also be a green world.

What do you think of this, I know it sounds like science fiction. But I think its possible.

    ...

    Ghost at WWE thing?

Terraforming Mars sounds like a brilliant idea. Imagine all the new land and resources that would become available!

Even if it didn't work, we would have a bit of fun trying.

I think it's a good idea, but isn't the gravity there significantly weaker than Earth's gravitational pull? I missed that documentary did they mention anything about that ?

It's like 30-40% Earth's gravity. Anyone who lived in that gravity without rigorous exercise would experience severe bone and muscle atrophy, including the heart. You would never be able to return to earth and your bones would become brittle. Did you not know about how astronauts have to exercise constantly to maintain their bodies?

    Mars....Our next home?

This can definitly be an option, I could see this happening for sure, I never would have believed it until you explained the whole putting tree's on mars made alot of sence so this is definitly an option. but is there gravity on mars? I'm pretty sure there is none but I dont know.

I wouldn't mind going to outer space to live but the crappy thing would be leaving alot behind just so future generations will ruin our mars too. so then we'd move again. But on earth we do NOThave much time, I'm giving us 10 years, then earth is done.
cause in around 10 years, there will be no more electricity (says mtv commercials) and probably thats when gas is gonna be gone for good.

well once those two resources are gone we're screwed as well as global warming is coming FAST.

not to mention the possibility of a one world government and v-chip that may happen and destroy us all.

so this is DEFINITELY an option. 99.9% this will happen within 100 years, or even our lifetimes or else were all dead anyway because of global warming.
just some of my thoughts on this whole moving to mars topic and yes I went a little elsewhere with my thoughts but I guess It's all good.

mars is an expired planet it has no useful resources discovered as of yet, and is only viable as a future home, privided we can find a way of allocating resources required to built a world on mars itself, which would required at this stage, earths resources, which is not possible due to the supply limitations.

Guys they are making suits to support the gravity of Mars and since of the new atmosphere thickening because of our gases. The gravity will be same or 1 different of that of Earth.

Homes on the Moon will probably happen before homes on Mars. Mars is pretty far out and although it's more easily terraformed it's hard to get anything established there. Also, terraforming takes quite a while, at the start people living on the Moon/Mars will probably be living in large buildings with greenhouses and a supply of oxygen.

This is a very good point. Even if people began to inhabit Mars/The Moon, it would take millions of years for humans to evolve in order to live a comfortable life in either place.

We could make ourselves adapt. The gravity levels aren't THAT low.

I could definitely see us establishing a home on mars, although their is the possibility that migrating to other planets could bring new illnesses upon humans, which could destroy our chances. For example, there could be a parasite on mars that kills you at some point. That wouldn't be very good for us.
