Oephi, just btw the money that goes to the churches goes to orphanages as such like places where your parents dumped you. If it wasn't for the generous you wouldn't be alive and or you would be paying allot of extra taxes.

How is it irrelevant to make a comparison between two human situations, one we are discussing, where ignorance plays the key role?

Only strong Atheism, the stance that a God definitely does not exist, is irrational. Then again, it is as irrational as stating that Santa Claus does not exist.

Existence is enjoyable. Most humans inherently do not wish to die, and find even a neutral life to be worthwhile.

Yeah. Lots of people thought that too. I'm kind of thinking it's fake, or he was in a coma, in a dream or something. Not sure =\

in the video, he mentioned his injury's were Brain Injury. I highly doubt this is real, the flames probably tore the parachute apart.

What makes this man so different from everyone else god makes him return to earth? Supposedly he wasn't the best person someone can be right? Why would god, out of all people choose him?
All in all I don't think its fake, it just isn't the work of god.

It seemed a bit Cleche to me. I doubt it's true. That whole thing would take about 5 minutes of thinking to do. :|

Saying that weak beliefs constitute more rationality... well. It just means if your wrong, your less fucked. That's about it.

I'd agree. Existance is enoyable. But the average 76 years of it doesn't appeal too good to most people. Thus the popularity of religion.

To respond to my previous post, I now see a contradiction to myself. However, it is irrelevant. Just because people slip in shower and die, it doesn't mean you shoudn't shower. Pulling a situation highly improbable does not strengthen argumen.t

No one knows what the purpose of our existence is, and honestly I don't really care. Yes it would be great to know but to be honest, I care more about the stuff that is going on right now in the present time. Yes it would be great if I "knew" all the answers, but as we have seen through history, this simple method could not blanket man's curiosity, which led him to explore, study the heavens, and think. Yes it would be great, but humanity is becoming increasingly intelligent, too intelligent to simply believe that they know all the answers.

And 60 years down the line, I would be much happier knowing that I am not going to burn forever in a firepit.

Not necessarily. It is possible that a God exists who rewards skeptics.
