Paypal account locked

So my paypal account got locked today. For some reason, it says something about credit card and stuff, but I never used a credit card. I never added a credit card to my paypal account either.

I had $150 or so, and now it's at -$28. Why is it -$28? My cousin's account is also locked and is int he negative numbers. Everyone that I ever sent money to got a chargeback, but I never did anything.

I can not unlock my account because my mom's bank account doesn't work. It says something about this bank account type thing not being allowed. Can someone help me?

 

Have you called up Paypal? (Over the phone)

If you talk with them over phone, you will be able to get more support, and most likely you will be able to resolve this issue much quicker.

Try another credit card, because generally, accounts that get locked are caused by chargebacks, and the idea of fraud. If you can add a credit card, you will be able to unlock your account. I'm not sure, but I believe a 25$ giftcard may work as a credit card. I have used one to purchase online items as a credit card before, so why not?

 

cp, I did not add a credit card to it so yeah. Anyways, if I charge back everyone, will the people that get charge backed have the same effect as me? I'm really scared right now of what the people can do to me o_0

 

No, it will require multiple chargebacks by different people, or a large amount of money being charged-back.

Just discuss it with the Paypal people over the phone, as that is where you'll find most of your help.

 

But a 13 year old talking to them would be kinda weird.

Why is it that this happened:

1. I get charge backed
2. My friend, justin, he charge backed everyone on his list

 

If someone charges back, that money is either coming out of your balance, or in the case that it's empty, out of your wallet. Call PayPal, File A Dispute, or contact the person.

That's pretty much all you can do.

 

Just say you're 18, even if your voice is high and what not they won't say anything. And yea those Visa giftcards work perfectly for paypal, I've been using them for over a year now.

 

I have gotten the same error.. I checked my paypal recent activities and the Chargeback to Paypal was $.40 even tho i had $.30 and i had - some cents..

THANK GOD I USED MY $300 ON SOME STUFF ON EBAY.. OTHERWISE ID BE SKREWED.

i asked my friend about 5 minutes ago... he made my paypal verified by doing some trick that he searched and he said that they do this becaue they think of some type of fraud act.. such as stolen credit card ect.. so they ask to redeem a new credit card with it ...



OVERALL PAYPAL SUCKS!

 

There thinking your A con, and thinking your action is fraud just call them it will be settled happened to many friends for doing chargebacks to each other as a joke

 

Paypal monitors all fund transfers, and if for ANY reason they believe something doesn't look right, they will IMMEDIATELY withhold all questioned funds.

I myself had a similar issue with my paypal. My account went from over $400 to -272ish, and my account was limited.

All I had to do was call them, and submit proof of my Age, Name, Address, and proof that the Credit Card attached to the account was mine.

I took pictures of the credit card and all receipts concerning it (It was a prepaid visa card) And a picture of my California ID card. Within a week of submitting this information, my account and funds were restored.

 

the reason why your account is locked and at negative numbers. Is because at some point, you traded with them via paypal, which means the person who gave you money used a stolen paypal account with a stolen CC. I don't think this is irreversible so tough luck
