What will replace gasoline?

As we all know, we have a very limited amount of gasoline. It has become extremly expensive, which is greatly affecting our lives.
I want to know what you think will replace it if anything. Do you think that we will be able to run cars just off water, electrically, or what?

Ethanol is looking good, but then there won't be any corn left because it will all be used to make ethanol.

 

I think water will. I mean, after the oil companies decide to stop killing the scientists who create them, and destroying their work.

And even if they made it into steam, it would make it extremely humid..

they've got hybrid's already its most likely taht cars are gonna run on solar energy and for night time i think there will be something that will power it up.

 

probably some sort of electricity, or the future-equivalent. We have the technology today to create far more fuel-efficient cars, longer lasting fuel, cheaper, etc.. but this would send the current manufacturers and dealers broke. Unfortunately, money is more important than a 'greener' approach to a better alternative.

I couldnt care to much, iv got a motorbike aswell as a car, and on it i can get 400km out of $17AUD.

 

Biofuel and mabe electricity.

 

We still have a lot of oil on this planet. We just limit ourselves to make more money.

Hydrogen most likely. BMW already made a hydrogen powered car and there's a hydrogen stations in California already to refill your hydrogen car if you have one.
