Best way to buy OSRS Gold?

What is the best way to buy a large amount of gold for Oldschool RuneScape accounts?

I want to buy 1b gp.

Any tips or tricks to utilise to avoid getting banned, also anything I should do so that if I get caught I am able to appeal my account on the terms of 'it was hacked' or something? (Note I want to buy gold not sell it)

Talking to some gold sellers some trade over in 300m increments, some trade over in 50m increments and some just trade the whole value in one trade.

Should I accept the cash on an alternative account on a different ip and trade it to my main who is using a different ip? Should I drop trade it or regular trade it? Trade gold or buy items and trade items?

How should I go about doing this? I want to be able to recover my account under a technicality (i.e hacked) if at all possible, but when buying gold; contrast to selling gold how can I say I was hacked and given billions of gold...?

Don't use a fresh account and you should be fine. Since you're breaking the TOS you won't be 100% safe, but it's close to that - buying gold is much safer than selling it.

If you want to be extra careful, split the amount into several chunks and trade/buy them every few days.

 

Use a seasoned account and trade with someone that is as well. As long as you aren't doing a lot of transactions like that and as long as you aren't dealing with large scale gold farmers/sellers (Chinese sites etc) you should be good.

Obviously nothing is 100% but it's as good as you'll get. You could transfer via staking for some added peace of mind but if someone's looking at your account, the method you use won't matter a great deal (unless you're a frequent staker anyway)
