It's supposed to be used as an incense, so most people selling them will put warning labels and such on their packages.

    E:

Just because I said supposed to, doesn't mean anything different. Ancient Mayans used it like an incense. They did a form of extraction, and burned it under their nose and inhaled, or smoked it through long, dart like pipes.

Salvia is not ‘fun’ in the way that alcohol or cannabis can be. If you try to party with salvia you probably will not have a good experience. Salvia is a consciousness-changing herb that can be used in a vision quest, or in a healing ritual. In the right setting, salvia makes it possible to see visions. It is an herb with a long tradition of sacred use. It is useful for deep meditation. It is best taken in a quiet, nearly dark room; either alone, or with one or two good friends present

That probly explains my Experiance It was at a Friend party after a few drinks.

This is just a quick statement to that first part talking to the other kid.

What actually makes something addictive is how much you like it. hell you can be addicted to anything that doesn't give an addictive trait, such as computers they don't put anything into your system but yet 10000's of kids each year get addicted to it via chatrooms\games etc. If he likes it enough and what it does he could get addicted to it. now I am not saying this is gonna be one of those "gateway drug" things but there is a good chance of him getting addicted to it if it does what he is wanting.

I personally would say don't do it simply because hallucinogens and other "drugs" are mainly just a way to get away from it all in which there are other more productive ways to do so.

The thing about addiction deadzone is that it has certain qualities...

What you're thinking of is a "compulsion".

I'm talking about ACTUAL addiction, where if you quit it, it could harm you more than continuing it. Addiction can kill, and withdrawal can kill even worse. It's like taking oxygen away. :p

Meh if you still need advice, fuck salvia. Short effects, major comedown.

You COULD do it then on the comedown smoke some weed. That = less comedown.

p.s. Deacon wins post above me :)

Just try it to see if you like it. If you do, then go ahead.

I see.. But a quick question, with something like this if he has a compulsive need to do this, and it is in fact a drug, or drug like substance it obviously as someone possibly even you stated before consequences and side effects, wouldn't it be just as bad as any other drug? and with compulsiveness as with what you stated with gambling and such, it is easier to stop short term, but generally people that have a gambling problem never stop when they quit.
essentially wouldn't it lead to the same conclusions as the addictiveness, it may not lead to death but can lead to many many other serious problems later on in his life.

Yes indeed, compulsions can make you psychologically on the acts, however, the compulsion to inhale an herb does not make it an addiction... Compulsions can easily make a person insane for not doing something, but it won't cause physical harm to them.

Like Kami said, there's always a possible problem when you take a psychoactive herb, but that doesn't make it an addictive drug.

I can see how people can become, in the mind set that they have to do it, but taking it away from their body isn't going to cause them any physical harm. That's what I mean when I say it's not addictive. It means that their body won't adapt to the herb in any way other than mentally.

So, in all reality, it's pretty safe.

Lol yes, I'm sure we all would.

I say go for it, if you want to try it once then do it. If you don't like it then stop. Deacon Frost seems pretty smart and seems like he knows what he is talking about.

Yeah, you can buy LSD for a few bucks a hit and you can trip for days. Have fun with that.

    It's not $50 for a 10 minute high, it's $50 for a bag full of 10 minute highs.
