Did you know if you picked the right cellphone company? Do you know if your getting ripped off? I'm here to show you all the backbones of the popular networks that are available here in the United States.
People will generally just pick a network just for the great phone (iPhone has the AT&T, etc.), without seeing how much you pay every month, and I'm here to show you if it is all worth it. Here are some of the most popular cellphone companies and their best seller phones.

Detailed Description of Popular Cellphone Companies

-AT&T is a one of the most popular networks, right next to verizon, and they both seem to always fight.(Voyager vs. iPhone). The rates for AT&T are as followed.

Single User Plan

• 900 Minutes ($59.99) + $0.40 for each additional minute
• 1350 Minutes ($79.99) + $0.35 for each addional minute
• 2000 Minutes ($99.99) + $0.25 for each additional minute
• 4000 Minutes ($149.99) + $0.25 for each addional minute
• 6000 Minutes ($199.99) + $0.20 for each additional minute

-For unlimited text messaging, $19.99 will be added.

Family User Plan

• 700 Minutes ($99.98) + $0.45 for each additional minute
• 1400 Minutes ($119.98) + $0.40 for each addional minute
• 2100 Minutes ($139.98) + $0.35 for each additional minute
• 3000 Minutes ($179.98) + $0.25 for each addional minute
• 4000 Minutes ($229.98) + $0.20 for each additional minute

Free stuff:
Like all companies, they will offer free phones if you sign a 2 year contract with them, but the phones are crap, but here are my recommendations.

3G Speed:
3G is currently the fastest mobile network there is, with speeds up to wi-fi. Some phones that offer 3G from AT&T would be the LG VU, Apple iPhone, and the LG Shine, but AT&T has loads and loads of 3G phones. 3G is not available to all networts.

Other Info about AT&T:
-Unlimited Minutes at night and weekends (Like most networks)
-Rollover Minutes, which means that if you only use 500/900 Minutes on your phone, then 400 Minutes will be added to your next month. Your minutes will never be gone to waste!
-AT&T also comes with Caller ID, call forwarding, and all that good stuff.

Verizon is used by many people, and used a lot by my friends...Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one using AT&T :'(. But seriously, this network is great, but doesn't have as great of phones as AT&T. Verizon has better and cheaper plans then AT&T, so Verizon has cheaper plans, but cheaper phones Verizon's rates are as followed.

I put Helio in my Guide because I think they should be recognized, despite their crap phones which were cool, about 2 years ago. Unlike most phone companies, Helio only uses one companie's cellphone, Samsung.

Helio is a little on the pricey side for families, but rather cheap on the single user plans, but is it worth the terrible phones? They only offer one free phone, the Helio Heat. All their phones are not worth the price. Even the free ones.

This company is a branch of Virgin, a huge ass organization with all sorts of things other then cellphones. You except it to be huge, but it's not, but the website is nice to look at.

-Sprint is rarely used by people, at least in my eyes, but they do offer some decent phones that I will show you later on. They have been trying to advertise their new phone, the Instinct, which is sort of cool, not not as great as the iPhone. Good try sprint!

Good or Bad?
Sprint doesn't offer texting, unless you buy a 49.99 package (450 Minutes). Kind of a rip off, which why no one has this plan. The plans I listed are the basic plans. For all those good stuff like web surfing, e-mail, GPS, add $29.99. Overall, pretty expensive, and alright phones

Misc. Info on Sprint:
This company is branched with Nextel, known for their annoying ass "beep" when you do the walkie talkie thing. This company in my eyes are sad, expensive, and outdated. Look at their free phone they offer, and then tell me that this company is the best in the world. Not a chance.

Ahh, Finally, the Oh-so-Common T-Mobile used by people all around the world. Cheap and Alright phones are the way to go in my book. I used to have this company as our main network, but I couldn't resist the iPhone .

My info:
Every company needs their own unique thing, like how AT&T has their rollover minutes. T-Mobile has their "Myfaves". Myfaves is a feature exclusive to T-Mobile, which allows you to talk unlimited to anyone 5 numbers. Myfaves is only available to some phones, not all of them. Only for $9.99 more, which is a really good deal if you ask me, but usually people don't ask me -_-

Verizon and AT&T really dominates the other 3 as you can see, and still at a very reasonable price!

Best Company for You!
Everyone has a different taste in things, so I will categorized everything for you.

If you like High-Tech Phones, Reasonable Price Plan, and got loads of money to buy a cellphone, AT&T is right for you!

If you like above average Phones, Very reasonable Price Plan, and got a good amount of money to spend on a phone, then Verizon is best for you!

If you like Moderate Phones, Very Reasonable Price Plan, and got some money to buy a phone, then T-Mobile is right for you!

If you like Crap Phones, and Reasonable Price Plans, with very little to spend on phones, they Helio is best for you!

If you like Crap Phones, and sort of Reasonable Price Plans, and got no money, then Sprint is right for you!

My Recommendations

Like most people in this forum, we like high tech stuff, so that's why I choose AT&T as my personal choice. With the 3G speeds, and amazing phones, and reasonable plans, I don't see why you won't get it. They offer major coverage area, and tons of features for your phone that you won't even imagine.

I hope you learned something about my guide, and thoughts about changing, or sticking with your current phone company. Before Sythe, I used to go on Yahoo Answers, and answer every question there was in the Cellphone catagory. This guide is good. I dont like some of the information in the guide, since you are very biased toward AT&T simply because you have it. However, the effort toward this guide is amazing, and I wish that this kind of effort could be put into other guides. If you wanted to improve this guide, you should remove your bias, because information that is biased is often next to information that is incorrect.

This is a very very good guide. You have plenty of
pictures, and nice explanations. I'm looking to get
a good phone that's not T-Mobile. I don't want a
phone that looks like those free ugly Sprint phones,
so what kind of phone should I get for Verizon? What
would be a pretty cool phone that isn't complete

I've tested lots of Verizon phones, but out of all the rest, I have to say the LG Dare or Voyager is among the best. LG has never failed to impress me by their phones. The Dare is the first picture. Voyager is the second picture.



LG Dare has one of the best resolutions in the phone industry, right next to the iPhone. The dare also has a 3.2 MP camera, which is a lot better then most camera phones. A large 3 inch screen can come in handy. It's also touchscreen, which is a nice feature, and only about $200 with a 2 year contract.

The Voyager has a start of the art frame, because you can use it as a regular bar phone, and then you can also slide it out to display a full keyboard. It has a large 2.8 inch screen and MicroSD support to store all your media in. Only $100 with a 2 year contract.

They are both equally good depending on your taste

Hmm, I have shitty reception in my area with
verizon for some reason xD. I might try to use
T-Mobile so I can get the sidekick, or just go
