[DENIED] Suggestion about vouches you put in your threads

Hey so I'll keep it relatively simple, this is a follow up of [DENIED] Make it against the rules to quote vouches in any thread other than where they are posted

My suggestion is the following:

Make it against the rules to quote vouches in your thread if they are totally irrelevant to what you are offering in the said thread.

Example, I am a name seller. The only vouches I'd be allowed to quote on my thread are vouches related to name sales and name transfers. I wouldn't be allowed to quote let's say a vouch where I sold x minirank to someone for x amount of money, it's just out of the topic and it literally causes flood problems.

The other important reason why I'd like to see this implemented is because if you go and put all of your vouches in there and a customer would like to know if you have previously done business in that field and all they see is unrelated vouches, I personally wouldn't be too keen in purchasing what the person is offering.

Bottom line, it would not only remove the flood problems but it would also be way clearer for the customers.

 

I believe when you quote a post, there should be a tick box to send a notification or not. If they choose to tick that box for situations like this, it would warrant an infraction.

It's a good suggestion and makes sense - why would anyone care that you bought 5m rsgp from someone; when you're offering an account sale or service?
I have noticed that most legit traders on here already follow this format, and it looks a lot more professional.

 

I can understand the idea here and can support it. Although if I ever wanted to get into account sales or something I've never done services for I still would want people to see my vouches and see the trust that's been given in the past. So while I understand the issue or annoyance, I personally feel trust is trust wherever one decides to get it in.

 

I actually like this suggestion, I'll support. If I'm looking to buy a name from you I want to be looking at the vouches you have for name sales not your skilling services or your RSPS trades or any other shit. It just makes more sense if you want to show all your other vouches then just link them your vouch thread.

Who would regulate this

 

Staff would take care of it, naturally. It's pretty simple though, people would just have to report the thread in question and state the reason which would be incorrect use of vouches. Consequences would have to be determined. It may be seen as a burden but I don't think it would take that much of an extra effort, it's just another reported post and pretty easy to handle.

You're right when it's none of my business, I couldn't care less myself but the main reason why I made this suggestion is to help newcomers/customers who aren't familiar with trading practices. I agree it may seem like a directive towards the service provider but again they already have their vouches in their respective vouch threads so the question is why duplicate everything over again? When you think of it it's just common sense, why put a vouch where you've done a firecape for someone when they are here to buy some gold?

Like I said when I decided to make this suggestion, in no way I had in mind to protect anyone whatsoever. I tend to believe we encourage pleasant and safely trading practices, I believe the process starts right with the customer viewing the main thread of x service provider.

For the record in no way I see this as a priority but more like refinement and would also understand if it gets denied due to the free market argument.

 

I understand, but I feel as if there would be many grey areas in this suggestion.

I've been trusted with hundreds of millions at a time, regardless of the trade. For example, I've handled a few accounts (fire capes) with over 200m on them at a time. Why would it be wrong for me to post this vouch under my "gold selling" thread? I'm the same person being trusted with the same currency.

 

This suggestion has been denied.
