kind of. they have to then send you a friend request, and you have to accept them.

Unfortunately, discord friendlist is complete dog shit and doesnt let you group users/sort them in any way.

 

Last time I tried this, if the person clicking the button shared no server with you, the button did nothing.

If you share a server with then, it opens their profile when they can add them or send a message

I just tested this on a brand new account with no friends whatsoever, and clicked on a button of a friend of mines- it took me straight to their profile with the "add friend" button

 

Just started using this exact method with similar layout as OP.

And some people get mad at me when I say I only use PM. Better safe than sorry imo.

 

Perfect thread, I hope people take the time to notice and read this! It was save many issues occurring and moderators dealing with them as much as now.

 

Tried testing this on a new discord account, both the app link and the web link don't seem to work.

I don't have anyone added on these new discord accounts, nor do I share a server with @Pendulum on these brand new accounts.

Seems like it only works if they already share a server with you as people have already suggested.

 

Sadly, this method only works if you share a mutual server with them. rip

 

I have done some testing and have come to the following result(s):
The link/button will work if you share or have previously shared a server together.
The link/button will not work if you have only shared a chat/group chat with the person.

Due to the number of Discord servers and their relative sizes nowadays this should hopefully still be very effective against the impostor problems we currently have.

I literally created a brand new account and then click on Dieze's link from a different device and it led me straight to him.
