I. Recommendations

For starters I recommend using a Mario Kart Steering Wheel. This Steering Wheel practices your abilities in driving and gaming. It is quite fun and enjoyable than using a regular Wii Remote Control.

II. How to use the Nintendo Wii Steering Wheel

How to Accelerate.
Press the 2 button located at the end of Wii Remote to accelerate.
How to brake.
Press the 1 button located above the 2 button on the Wii Remote.
How to look back.
Press the A button near the top of the Wii Remote.
Pausing the game.
Press the + button located in the middle of the Wii Remote.
Using items.
Press the arrows located at the top of the Wii Remote.



III. Speed Boost Tips

1. When starting a race, you have the opportunity to receive a speed boost when pressing the acceleration button on the Wii Steering Wheel (the 2 button.) The speed boost only works when the Countdown of the race reaches 2. If you do not do this right, you will burn out and be stuck at the starting line for an estimate of 2 seconds. But if done right this will get you ahead of the game!

2. Another way to get a speed boost is by sticking right behind someone for an estimate of 5 seconds. This will set off a reaction quite similar to a sonic boom. He dart right in front of your opponent for about 3 seconds.



3. this speed boost is quite fun to do and is quite easy. As you see a ramp or jump somewhere you are able to do tricks for a speed boost. once you lift off the ramp or jump simply shake the Nintendo Wii Steering Wheel Control up and down and when you successfully land you will have a speed boost. Tricks can also preformed when the Nunchuck (if using Wii Controller) is shaked.



4. The last speed boost is quite simple. When using a bike (bikes only) you are able to preform a Wheelie for a short burst of speed. Yet you can do this any time and an unlimited many of times, you do not have much control on your vehicle. This Speed boost is not recommend unless driving in a straight path.



IV. Tips on Turning

1. As you run into a turn on the course you are playing on, remember to use the drift button (B button at the bottom.) If you are driving a Kart (does not work for bikes) and are driving on Manual (automatic does not work) you have the opportunity to receive yet another speed boost. When drifting, you will see blue sparks flare up, when the blue sparks change to orange you are able to receive the speed boosts. Release the Drift button (B Button) and you will get a speed boost.



2. Turning on the inside corning of the turn also can get you ahead of the game. Turning on the outside corning usually makes you slower and doesn't help you much during the race.

V. Tips throughout the game

1. use items to your advantage through the game. It will help you surpass your opponents quite quickly. test all the items out, they will help you discover that you can affect the person in first place or all the players you are racing with. HINT: if you are last place or near last place, you have a higher chance to get a better item to use than getting items while near first place.



2. Avoid driving on the grass or rough dirt, or mud splashes. This will make driving very difficult and make your kart or bike very slow when accelerating. My tip here is to just drive on the track. Also avoid the numerous obstacles that Nintendo put into the game, such as cows, moles, Bowser Fireballs, Caterpillars, ect.




There are other many otheruseful tips in MarioKart. . They're are also many short cuts hidden in the game. This will also help you a lot when found. Beating 1 Player Grand Prix Games will also help you unlock Characters and Bikes to use for your advantage.
