How to secure yourself a decent job.


Before:

Think to yourself, do i have the qualifications?
No matter where you are working, make sure you look tidy.
Make sure you have all the required pieces of paperwork/identification.
Brush your teeth. It should be second nature, but bad breath can loose you the job.
Body odour, you want to smell nice, but don't over do it. Smelling of sweat like above, can loose you the job.
Suits, no matter your opinion are smart and a sign of respect.
Are your shoes polished? Clothes ironed?
Improve your charisma, tell yourself you have the job in the bag, and confidence is the key.
Reassure yourself this job is for you, and prepare to get the job.

On meeting the boss.

In order to get yourself a decent job you're going to need to make a good first impression, you only get one chance at this so it's important. If you're wearing a hat, make sure you're not any more. Shake his/her hand. And make sure you introduce yourself with confidence. Don't do anything that may make him feel uncomfortable. i.e. make a scene or get up in his personal space. When he starts to explain what the job consists of, make sure you listen. Take in what he says, and don't be afraid to ask sensible questions. Don't make yourself look stupid. When he asks you a question, answer with confidence and get to the point, don't umm and ahh. Get it out. If he walks you around, again make a good impression. Shake hands, be polite and introduce yourself. If on the off chance there is an attractive woman, keep it in your pants and treat her as you would anyone else. Winking is a no no in any circumstance. You have to give the impression you want the job, not need it. So be enthusiastic. I can't stress that you need to listen to what he says and take it in.

First few days.

Providing you made a good impression and had adequate qualification you should hopefully have the job. Now, you need to keep up the enthusiasm. Don't take any short cuts, and always feel you're being watched. Because you likely are. Don't come across as over excited or an ass kiss just keep your cool, stay composed and go on through the day. Make sure you take the time to read through the work placements manuals and documentation provided. These can be the key to a long term job. People respect intelligence, as long as it's genuine. Don't answer questions you don't know, but you can always try find out or point them in the right direction.

Lots of spelling errors but the guide is good. I can't point all of them out because I'm on my ipod, but put it through microsoft word and you will see

Nice guide 6/10, because half of the people won't follow these guide, 1\4 of the people still haven't come to terms that by legal age(18), their parents are kicking them out, and another 1\4 are too rich for jobs. :] i'll use tho lol
