I'd choose Rock.

Rap from the 90's was ALOT better then the more modern "rap".

Snoop, Eazy, Tupac, Dre, BIG.

50 Cent was even a good rapper, with his first album.

His others sucked though.

 

You guys are all retarded if you believe the face of rap is in the mainstream.
Get into underground rap like Nas, Immortal Technique, Atmosphere, Eyedea etc..and see if you still hate it.

 

Music is like candy, you have to get rid of the rappers. (way overused)

But really... Rap can't even begin to compare to rock.

Some rock is good... I don't really like the whole death metal stuff.

It doesn't matter if it's mainstream or not, we just prefer Rock more than rap, even if rap is underground I still prefer Rock. Underground rap is better though, I've heard a bit of it and it's decent.

 

Have to go to with Rap, but I listen to as much rap as i do rock. I'm not like these 12 year olds who can't understand that there is good in both genres. and also shit in both. I listen to most teh anti-political shit in both though. listen to texas rap if you seriously haven't given rap a chance.

Depends what type you listen to, but most types or rap don't qualify for that.

Rock takes more talent and probably has more meaning than rap. That's the reason why I think it's better.

Okay, Jirro LOVES rock and can't stand any rap that isn't funny. (Afroman, ICP, etc.)

if you think im wrong, then listen to underground rap. Atmosphere, Memphis Bleek, A tribe called Quest. Though i agree that some rock songs are okay. But Underground rap has to take the crown.
