[impostor] is a scammer.

Just got scammed for 300m,

I was supposed to sell 300m, for .88 paypal, when i went first due to him being more trusted then i he told me he couldn't send below 500$ due to the nature of my paypal account. i told him i would fix my paypal account and we could continue the trade. however i asked him to give me the gp back in the meantime. he got very upset. and told me either i sell him 1b or he will give me my money back and never do business with me again. i told him i just wanted my money back and he said ok. traded me then canceled trade then blocked me.

HE KNEW HE WAS GOING TO SCAM ME FROM THE START! WHEN I ASKED FOR A PM HE SENT ME A PM BUT SENT ME A CHATLOG OF A CONVO SIMILAR TO OURS WITH MY NAME BUT WITH DIFFERENT SIMILARITIES. HE WAS USING A DIFFERENT DISCORD HOWEVER I RECIEVED A PM FROM HIS SYTHE ACCOUNT WHEN ASKED FOR. MEANING HE WAS THE ONE I WAS SPEAKING TO ON SYTHE AND ON A DIFFERENT DISCORD.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT ELSE IS NEEDED SO I CAN GET THIS SCUMBAG BANNED!

 

I sent you a pm with our conversation, discords and both our unique ID's how have you been scammed by someone?

You agreed to .88 as you claim yourself but the PM says .73. So you obviously traded an impostor.



This is why you should take the time to actually read the PMs you receive and not rush into selling your gold because someone offered you a price which was too good to be true. Sorry for your loss but LRUG isn't at fault here.

he is obviously changing the discord chat log, as he has some of our messages correct like the 100m at a time part, but not all of it

 

if it was an imposter, how would i have a pm from him when i asked for one? also that would mean he was also talking to an imposter of me because our chat log doesnt match up 100%

 

he is trying to make it look like i was speaking to an imposter, and has changed his pm info slightly, as well as our discord chat log.

 

Go into your discord settings -> Appearance -> Developer mode(turn it on).
Right click Lrug's name in the discord conversation you claim to be having with him and copy his ID. Paste his ID in chat and take a screenshot of that and also paste it here.

Discord names can be copied and impersonated, but discord IDs can't be as they're unique.

This is exactly what happened. It’s known as a man-in-the-middle scam as the scammer talks to the real trader using an imposter of you and also talks to you using an imposter of the trader in order to gain similar chat logs and have the trader send a legitimate looking chatlog to you via Sythe PM. This scam can be mitigated by actually checking the confirmation PM thoroughly, which it seems you’ve failed to do, unfortunately.

Him stating i dont usually get asked to do incroments? how is it that him AND AN IMPOSTER happen to say the exact same things?

You need to always double check their unique ID when trading someone over Discord, Nitro makes it extremely easy to impersonate someone.
