Skateboard Diagram And First Trick - Ollie
    _________________________________

Introduction - Hey, this is my second guide, and once again, about Skating. This guide should hopefully show people a little bit about Skateboarding, learn a few of the beginner trick's, etc. I have seen some other thread's like this saying, "Video's would be nice". Well, I will not do that. I am not that good of a skater - Just like the sport.

A quick run-through of the thing's I'll be writing about are - The board's part's, how to stand; Basic beginner trick's on the board; Other information. I do not want comment's like - "I already know all these trick's/Who doesn't know how to stand on a board". These will be reported as spam since the title clearly state's, this is a beginner's guide to Skateboarding.

I have put a lot of time and effort into this guide so really, unless your one of the User Educator's, I would appreciate if you tried to only say good thing's about this guide and comment about all the bad stuff (if there some crappy stuff). Anyway, I think we'll start with the Basic Part's of the board, showing you some board name's skater's would commonly use.

Information - The Deck is really just a different name for the board. The part you stand on. Deck's are raised at the front and back end's, the name's as you may know - Nose and Tail. The Grip Tape is a sort of sandpaper like material. Without this, you would easily slip off your board. Since Grip tape keeps you gripped to the board, hence comes the name.

Information - Truck's are a very important part of the Skateboard, attaching the wheel's and the Deck together. Without, you'd either end up with Deck and some wheel's lying around. They can move to the direction you want to go to by simply putting pressure on the left/right side. They can also help do trick's, such as grinds. Read bellow to go into more detail.

Information - If you haven't already noticed, this is the truck but more close up to see the separate part's to it. The base plate is the part of the truck which attaches to the base of the board. The hangar is part which extends from the base plate and holds the wheel's. Between both of them come the two bushing's. And right in the middle of everything in the truck comes the Kipling, a bolt that holds everything together.

Information - The axle is another very important part of the Truck. It's the piece which will hold the wheel, and it's pretty obvious why this part is needed - Without, no wheel, meaning no movement, meaning no point of the Skateboard. It run's right through the hanger (which I mentioned above) to the other side. The bolt at the end of the axle is where you screw on the wheel.

Information - Obviously, wheel's are the piece which allow the board to roll across the ground. There are many type's of wheel's that can be bought. Some, very hard so it will not wear out fast. Other's can be pretty light, allowing the board to move much faster but could wear out much easier. Most wheel's have a hardness rating of around 100a.

Information - These are the piece's that make a wheel really, bearing, spacer and a washer. The bearing is a very small and carefully crafted piece which fit's carefully in the middle of the wheel. Spacer's go in the center of the wheel which can prevent chance's of slipped Axel's. The washer is a small piece which fit between the outer bearing and Axel nut.

Information - And now the last picture I have to show you, the Hardware, as it's commonly called. Obviously, a lot of these are used in building a skateboard since there are the piece's of equipment which mainly keep the whole of the board together. Without these, the board would completely fall apart and you'd be stuffed, really.

    Basic Trick's For Beginner's

Information - Bellow are some pretty basic trick's you can learn from skateboarding. I have included picture's and stance's. Hope you like and it helps you. I will try to include as much information as I can for each trick so you will understand it a bit better and if not already done, master the trick as quick as possible.

    The Ollie

Basic Information - The Ollie will be probably the most air-gaining trick you will learn through out skating. It's also one of the most easiest trick's to learn as it is most of the time used as a beginner trick to get yourself going and start your skating frenzy.

    Stance

First, you'll have to have a good stance. Meaning, standing in the correct position to do the trick. Just a quick run through - The back foot should be on the tail of the board and the front foot in the middle of the board or just bellow the front truck bolt's. Here's an example, bellow.

    Technique

    1. Push a few time's till your at a comfortable speed which you like. Not to fast, not to slow.

    2. Place your back foot at the tail of the board at the front foot in the middle of the board.

    3. Get ready to start your Ollie by first bending your knee's. Example of this is bellow.

    4. Slam down your back foot on the tail of the board, done right you should hear a popping sound.

    5. Quickly slide your front foot to the Nose of the board and press down with it hard.

    6. Keep both your feet up high, don't keep the back down and the front up or you'll land all wrong, keep the high, like near your chest.

    7. Make sure that your shoulder's and leg's are parallel to the direction your going in, it will make a dramatic difference when landing.

    8. Land on all four wheel's and because of the impact, try bending your knee's when landing. Then roll away with a smile.

If you would like any help or have any question's/problem's then please leave a comment or send me a pm and I'll try to answer as soon as I can. And that's the end of my second Skateboarding Guide. I hoped you were taught something knew and liked my guide.

    Good guide 9/10
Some grammar needs to be fixed, such as mixing up the words To and Too
    Once that's fixed I'll give you a 10/10

I'd put front leg right behind the front bolts and the back leg more on the tail for a better pop.

Great guide. Just a few questions I got. But first I need to explain my little history.

I have my skateboard for years now. Never used it til I last twisted my ankle (almost got a broken bone)
Now I am quite afraid to skate.
Have not successfully done an ollie (I suck at it)
Should I do ollie while my skateboard is moving or still?
Please explain too how much danger or accident will I get in trying to learn again.
