Why is believing in a God bad?

I just don't see how this is bad. Sure its led to wars and other things but... Most religions out there teach good and not bad. Plus I don't see why some Atheist believe just cause they believe in no God that they are more intelligent then someone else who does. (at least in my experience)

 

If you acknowledge that God doesn't exist, but still believe in him, then your beliefs are in direct contradiction with each other.

People believe In god out of fear. I have been told all the time It is better to believe and be wrong then to not believe and be right. Meaning I should believe on the basis of fear of If I am wrong. So all I am saying A perfect being shouldn't give a man free will and be pissed about them questioning the logic of his very being because of the inadequate proof of him ever existing.

I agree. However, I don't think he would approve of you choosing to reject him, given that the Christian motif is correct.

I don't need to argue really. You don't need to disprove something that has never been proven in the first place. All you can do is base your beliefs on logic or rather the lack of. From my understanding no definitive evidence points to a higher being. Occam's razor can justify my disbelief.

 

I think that the universe has a meaning not its JUST there....
So I do think theres a god somewhere......

This isn't about whether he exists or not. Its not mainly focused on one religion.
This is about any type of God which is why I put "a God"

To believe that one group of people is better than the other is just obbsurd. It's not a negative thing to believe in "a God", however we will disprove your belief through knowledge, or as said earlier, the "lack of knowledge".

 

Which somewhat proves what he is saying that some Atheist think they know more then someone who isn't.



For instance though I can prove theres ghosts by showing you pictures, video yet there will still be those who say such things don't exist.

I can show you videos of UFOs and photos yet there will still be people that say they aren't real.


Let me ask you this. If there was proof that God in general exist would you still be Atheist?

Who said it was bad? I beleive that when you die your just gone and life keeps on. So if beleiving in god makes you happier in your life, i dont see why it should be bad. But i dont beleive in god I think that Bigbangs theorys and science are our only knowledge.
