Greetings fellow sythe members. I'm posting this thread today to present to you the dangers of selling accounts/gold, or any type of pixel, using Paypal.

Firstly, selling pixels over the internet is a very risky choice. All from the danger of scammers.
You may be selling an account, the guy is willing to go first, and pay an outrageous amount. This makes you very excited, after you've received the payment, you'll give him all the information to make the account securely his. A few hours/days go by, and you see you may be have a negative balance (from spending the money), or less money than what you already had in your Paypal account.



Reason being: With selling an account over the internet, you are unable to provide proof of purchase, therefor the scammer can simply file a dispute to Paypal, putting the money "on hold" for a matter of a week. That gives you a week to appeal it. How you appeal it is by giving paypal a tracking/shipping number. In which case you don't have for you bought an account without using mail. In which case, you're fucked.



So, the scammer just waits a week or so to revive the money. And you then loose the account/gold/whateveryouwereselling. Happy days!

I DO know how to appeal this. However, it will greatly benefit scammers. So if you desperately need to know, you first must be trusted on sythe, and I'll tell you in MSN chat. Otherwise that's a mystery for you.

 

Always make the buyer send an email from the paypal account stating they had received the acc/rsgp, etc. as evidence.

Or transfer through several other paypals and then withdraw to your bank acc, although it would work without withdrawing.

 

Doesn't work.

They will still claim the money back and the money will go to back to the original owner, following something called "the money trail."

What will happen if you do that is that they can still dispute it, and you will then be negative balance in your paypal.

 

Refrain from posting this guide in more than one section.

 

So, tell me this. Why would you make a guide and not tell us how to get around it?

Good Point But Always Make The Buyer Write A Letter To Paypal Explaining He/She Has Received The Account.
