[DENIED] Anonymous Section/Posting?

Would it make sense to have a section where near complete anonymity is guaranteed, a section where you can say and do anything within the lines of the rules without your comments being attached to your name. Where no one can see the thread you are viewing. Of course admins / mods would be able to see the posters username.

Just the name Anonymous or some other synonym for each person, maybe with a number after it (if you so choose? ex. Anonymous #123) so that you know if you're talking to the same person in a thread, maybe that would partially defeat the purpose of no one knowing you.

I understand that we are fairly anonymous already, being online using a username other than our given names. but I think that most people use the same username on multiple sites, so anyone with half a brain could find this half of your life all over the internet with 1 simple google search. Perhaps it's stupid to think someone would sift through your forum accounts postings to find some dirt, but if politics has taught us anything it's that stupid little shit that you did or said 10-50 years ago can ruin your life when someone digs it up, and it's so much easier to dig with todays tech and databases. So when you're talking about snorting coke off a strippers ass, that could be incriminating.

Maybe I'm crazy for wanting something like this, idk if I would even use it but I think it would be cool

1. In Xenforo, there are plugins already available even the option to custom code one, however complete anonymity is impossible as there will always be data logged for uid, ip addresses etc.

2. if you don't want your stuff leaked then don't post it.

3. You're allowed to post as a guest here.

4. If you genuinely want complete anonymity, then I suggest using the dark web. It is not illegal anywhere in the world to use it and there are really good websites that offers a platform for discussion.

Yeah but people already have matching IP without being related in anyway. IP doesn’t mean much when everyone is matching IP. Now, a user could compare a list of IPs to the list of IP on anon,
so yes, from a technical standpoint idk how this would work.

Personally, I think this would be cool, but will deffidently lead to some bullying. Yes, people are bullied in spam, but this might make it way worse.

Someone might know something about another user that’s personal. Maybe it’s in the realm of the rules to post that info, but it would be scummy. With this anon feature, we would be encouraging attacks on our fellow peers, while hiding your face, which is cowardly.

To anyone here, if you have ever used Tumblr, you’ll know how fucking stupid and low some people can be when asking you anonymous question. I have had friends who have been devistated by harassment on platforms like this, and although I believe in freedom of speech, I think that for the sake of the stability of the community, that this is a bad idea.

Whenever someone is anonymous, it’s hard to fight back and defend yourself, plus it encourages all these soy boys to start spamming anon post.

Ah . . . I thought an anonymous section would be there to help individuals with problems . . . not looked at in bad light. Oh. ok.

 

How can an anonymous section help anyone with problems? We have mods here for a reason. Sorry, but I realistically can only see this in a bad light.
