Elon Musk announces plan for Mars

his vision is very impressive

 

I think we are still a couple of decades away from a successful mars mission.

 

would rather focus on earth than sending people to mars

 

Let's hope he won't discover any artifacts there and move us to the Mass Effect timeline ;D

Lets work on our world cripiling issues first?

 

It’s nuts to think one day someone is going to go through customs with “Martian” as their birthplace/race on their passport. Won’t be in our lifetime though, in my opinion.

 

I don't care about Mars but rather space industrialization and colonization in general.

Once we have a more established presence in space, all future projects will just be so much more feasible. With recent talks to establish a base on Earth's Moon, that is a big step toward accomplishing that.

Once more conventional private companies start getting involved in things like asteroid wrangling and mining, we'll be able to source things like water etc from space (so not relying on Earth) and make progress go forward that much faster (and cheaper, since that's a big concern to some...).

 

Elon Musk should honestly run for president.

it's going to be a thing of the future for sure. they are making priogres and that's undeniable. i believe in my lifetime i will see it

 

This is definitely something I want to see more of. Elon is literally the hope of our future.
