Do perm bans ever get overturned?

One of my accounts apparently had a first offense that I had no knowledge about. If I had seen it I never would have risked another ban. Now I’m perm banned on this alt. Any circumstances they ever overturn? Also, what’s the point of squashing offenses if it stays banned?

Extremely rare, close to impossible, to get a botting ban removed, especially a 2nd offence.

As far as I know quash = strike removed = unbanned.

They had squashed the first one before the second had happened and stilled banned.

99% of the time this will not happen. Usually a perm ban for cheating is a perm ban for cheating.

There have been cases of Jagex doing some mass un-banning and giving people second chances.

    Check it out on Google.

I had them do it 1 time in 2006 after the account was banned for 4 years. "last chance amnesty appeal: manual un-ban"

I rented my main to a dude who claimed to have Brazillian workers killing Vorkath all day. Turns out he was botting my (and a few other people's) account(s). He got us all banned and I managed to get an unban 3 days later. I'm also trying to appeal a ban which happened at the beginning of this year on an old account of mine. Both accounts are around 1.9K total and all is looking good right now.

Is this through twitter/reddit? Thought the appeal system was dead.

So basically... I only logged in once in the time that the dude who was botting my account, so our IP's would have been different. If you've botted on a VPS then I assume this would work for you too.

I tweeted at Jagex support saying that I'd not been online for more than 5 minutes in the past month due to uni work and I just discovered that I'd been banned. I then submitted a recovery request to seem as though I had been hacked.

I exchange tweets with one of the helpers and play oblivious as to what's happened (because other people botting on your account is your responsibility if you give them access).

They suggest doing a virus scan and I say that I found a keylogger like 2 hours later. The helper suggests I send an appeal and they get back to me a few days later, account unbanned, all profit from his activities still in the bank.

I was perm banned for botting on my main, which is a 12 year old account. I hadn't logged in in over two years and I just appealed it and got it back instantly. Turns out some dude trained my hunter from 1 to 99.

I'm assuming it got banned because of that, but what surprised me was how quick I got the account back and how I didn't get any rollbacks.

My friend had a very similar situation with his main. I told him to recover it the same way that I did (they didn't even ask for an explanation) and his acc got unbanned instantly, too. So I guess it depends...

EDIT: It was definitely not the first offense, I've had several.
