Does caffeine stunt growth?

Good news is that scientists have not found studies that caffeine stunts growth.

Bad news is that scientists have not found studies that caffeine DOESN'T stunt growth.

What's your opinion on this?

 

I honestly don't know what to say to that!
I'm probably going to stick with, caffeine DOES, just because, it's what has always been said, and really, it must have come from somewhere?
With no other proof, I have to say, that's all that really makes sense to me.

 

Err, these past few years I've been addicted to the Energy Drink Monster, and I've grown maybe 5 inches?

 

Lots of things have been said, yet have been proven wrong. You can't just go with word of mouth. I'm neutral on this one, seeing there is no scientific evidence that it does.

 

Caffeine is a drug that's naturally produced in the leaves and seeds of many plants. Caffeine is also made artificially and added to certain foods. Caffeine is defined as a drug because it stimulates the central nervous system. At lower levels, it can make people feel more alert and energetic, however, NO, it does not stunt growth.

 

Caffeine is bad for your bones since it's a diuretic, apart from that I don't see why it should stunt growth.

 

IDC if it does.... really, why would anyone care if they are slightly shorter. :/

 

Lol, I never understood why people drink so much energy drinks.. they're stupid tbh

I think it's true, let's face it... all your friends or most who are short you tease them about caffeine... and most of them DO infact indulge it... So I'd have to say yes.

 

What are you talking about?? No one teases their friends about being short because of caffeine.

 

I've been drinking caffeine on daily basis since I was 12, I' 18 now and 6'3, so I highly doubt that.

 

I agree. I'm 16, 6'2'' and I drink at least 4 cups of coffee a day as well as lots of soda and energy drinks.

 

I've passed a kidney stone at age 15, from sugar and caffeine.
But I am 6'1".
So i doubt it.
Its one of those lame ideas like sperm count reduction form mountain dew etc.
(not true... I can prove it! )

 

Nah open and shut case not much of a discussion lol but in any case it would matter to me because Ive got the short end of the height stick. But still no caffeine has no effect what so ever on growth regulation.

What exactly does this have to do with stunt of growth anyway though?
Bones being doesnt mean they wont grow and Ive grown up on caffeine taking alot of hard slams and never broken a bone just to say.

 

My mom says this idk if its true im pretty sure tho serious weightlifting stunts your growth.
