Did RWTing make Runescape less popular?

Well you'd think so, but statistics say otherwise.



The results are accurate, from alexa.com, and they show Runescape has been getting about two/three/four times more pageviews than before. They didn't really add extra pages, so the pageviews should have stayed the same, but they actually raised. I guess jagex knows what they're doing? A few months ago, world of warcraft's website got more views, but now Runescape has more.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the RWT updates, but still, jagex isn't that dumb after all.

That is weird... Probably just something to do with the GFX update, though.

 

I think it may be the HD update and because they unbanned many people.

 

When the last chance appeal came, every single person that appealed got unbanned except for people who got banned for macroing. So many people started playing again, and then you get all these new updates and stuff. But they did lose players to the pking update.

It's just because of the summer, more people play in the summer.

 

Well the time of the RWT update was Christmas, which many people play on too.

I guess you dont use the wow homepage to get onto it though

If they kept rwt and still added what they have it'd be higher again

 

It's more about the new minigames, Christmas and HD update, I think.

It was because of the new graphics updates. Where the "before RWT update" is circled, was when they had gotten rid of staking already. They didn't do all RWT updates at once so thats why the numbers were low in that area because thats where they started. But the huge peak right now is because of the HD.

 

Well I would consider removing pking to make Runescape less popular since people love going in and showing off their skills to own RWTing is a different story.

I think it only spiked because GFX and all the unbans that have been happening recently.. I think more people still liked it with RWT.. I sure did lol.

 

I wouldn't say that. I mean not many people quit because of the staking but because of the 3K limit and no PKing, which came out in December/Jan.

 

Oh and to all of you saying it's because of the HD update; the peak is but it was still more popular than before the RWT update, before the HD update.

 

my guess is that sythe members are a minority is rs. Most people were happy with the rwt updates cus if u were a good pker you made so much bank that u rwt'ed which means that if u were a reg player staking and pking updates didn't really hurt you. Also this is summer time so of course page views are going to be up. The increase of unbanned people and the hd update will continue to attract more players. Every update rs gets dumber in dumber widening the amount of different age kids that can play rs. Pretty soon anyone can play rs even babies.... And that will give jagex even more page views

 

Alexa isn't that good. The official stats of web visits, only Jagex knows them. No. Runescape is not more popular. Before Dec 10 and jan 1, it had 230k players on weekends, now 200k to 170k.
