Good evening. Question for you, dear Sythe, users - how many scams/lures have you fallen for in your osrs/rs3 playing years, also what's the most you've lost?

Making this thread because today was the day I got scammazed, lost 16M. Don't really care about the gp, biggest pain is the imbues I lost. A pretty clever stream scam. It had like 1.5k viewers so I definetly wasn't the only one.

When I was a kid, I got duel arena scammed for my bank. Kid was way below my level, staked me like 2x my bank and kept cancelling and messing around. Finally we did the duel and I didn’t notice he turned obstacles on. He easily ran around the obstacles and ranged me down before I could even hit him.

Not to mention my account was absolute trash and I had no business staking. Bank was around 12M at the time but this was 2006/7 so it was a lot. RIP.

 

I was scammed as a kid for 2M with quick money removal in trade.
I was lured at one point for about 80M
Another time as a kid I lost like 20k

I'm sure I've lost more to other places but I can't remember right this second

 

First time I got scammed happened way back in 2006.

I'm selling BS in seers, just spamming away. I had around 100k worth or something. BIG money for me at that time..
Kid comes up and keeps trading noted Dragon Plate Legs and declining. They were 1M+ back then and my 12 year old mind went CRAZY because this guy was going to give me his D legs for my 100k in Bow String.

Whelp after the third decline I'm just spam clicking accept without hovering over the item....turns out it was RED D HIDE LEGS. There wasn't any trade warning system back then and noted D legs looked identical to noted Red D hide legs.

Best days of my life.

These days I just get scammed for thousands in the form of fraudulent charge backs.

So many people tried that on me..
So many times...
