How can I be more "popular"?

Well, I wouldnt want to exclude anyone, that's a good way to not make friends, IMO.

 

And make sure you can dance! I don't mean like take classes or shit like that just don't look like a douche and make sure you can grind, slow dance, etc.

I don't really get how you can't talk to girls lol. If you really like them then i can understand that you are a bit uncomfortable coz you don't wanna say anything to make you look like a dick etc. I got a fair few friends that are chicks that i hang out with etc.

I suppose to start a conversation in real life with them you could ask what music they like? I've never really had any troubles so i'm not too sure what to suggest lol, but music is a safe question. Then if you have similiar music tastes you can talk about bands etc so thats something.

Always look at them when you talk to them though, don't just like look at the ground or whatever because that'll just annoy them lol they'll be like "omfg if you aren't going to talk to me, then just go away".

But yeah in order to give you useful suggestions i'd need more information in what part of talking to chicks do you have trouble with.

I'm like opposite, I can have a conversation in person, but through IM is a negative, wouldn't last more than 30 minutes.

Advice: Show some game. Don't look to get girls, let the girls come to you. Talk to them, let them know what you find fun, (don't mention sythe or any online community shit). If you are attracted to someone, offer to take them out for lunch through a normal conversation. Get to know them, etc. The more time you spend with someone, the more they will either want you, or want to get away from you. Up to you

and I have the same problem, i just try small talk first or justa high and try to look up and walk normalyl instead of look down and burst away.

 

Just read that, thanks for posting that, it gave me a few ideas.

 

For different people there's different ways to do it but this is what works for me.

Be different voice your opinion but never criticizes other peoples opinions. When you mete see someone new ask for there name and shake there hand. When you great someone great them by name and welcome them. Don't argue it solves nothing and only gets people angry. Make people feel important and be entertaining do whatever the other person wants to do.

Overall:
Respect other people and they will respect you, become interested in other people and they will become interested in you.

For girls I use the same thing you just have to try harder with girls.

I guess I'm pretty popular I can't remember anytime someone forgot my name. Also making a video of my town and putting it on youtube has increased my popularity. I often mete people saying oh your that kid in the video.

Here's another technique I use:
Whenever possible agree with people and say yes, then exagerate be more exited about what the person said than how the person originally said it. Like if someone says "Do you want to come over?" you should say something like "Yes, I'm really bored now I really want to come over!". This technique is often used in jokes; if someone says a joke it is there joke there dignity, if you add to it and make it funnier they will laugh because they are thinking you are funny because "This was my joke orginally and you made it more better so you are making me feel more important.". Your funniest joke is the one that isen't yours.

 

doesnt need to just be parties, hang around in groups at popular areas. I go to camp for 2 weeks of the summer and its basically like 20 guys 40 girls and councelors the same age as us, easiest way to hook up with someone. Sleeping 50 meters away, swimming several times works out pretty well ^_^

I know what you mean, I think because when you're on IM there is a lack of emotion, and there are a lot of sayings that when you put a different emotion on them they have different meanings. Talking in person eliminates that problem.

After you talk to them in person for a while it should be a bit easier to talk to them. At least it is for me.. Just ask them something then let them ramble on for a while and ask questions every now and then to act interested and just relax

Also its usually easier to talk to them when you're with a group or a couple of friends because it takes away the 1 on 1'ness and makes things less awkward
