Why is this section so inactive?

The game recently released and is a pretty big hit, so I assumed that there would be at least a little discussion about in-game tactics and stuff. Kind of disappointing, because I really love this game and would talk to people for hours about it.

Never heard of Overwatch

 

Serious question : Is Overwatch as popular as people thought it was going to be? It seems like it only gets modest viewership on Twitch and it doesn't seem like it's going to get to a Dota/League level of popularity. What do you think? I was considering getting it but it seems like the hype on it is already dead.

 

The hype is gone. In my opinion, Overwatch can only ever be as popular as games like TF2 were. It's a problem with the genre, not the game. Currently, there's a lot less analysis that goes into Overwatch than other competitive games like League or Dota. The game plays more casually than competitively, and that's what some people don't like.

 

Wow, very succinct but you make a lot of good points. There is definitely an analytical side to Dota and League. I wasn't sure if Overwatch had that same element. What a shame. I'm really looking for that next big thing in terms of E-Sports, high viewership, and insane popularity.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised it hasn't happened yet.

I watched a lot of my friends play and quit because they just aren't good. Too people are used to MOBAs or RPGs and not enough people are used to the FPS scene/controls.

 

Personally, I love it.

 

If I recall correctly, you can derive the sales number from Blizzard's financial details when they last released them. The number of sales, assuming all copies were $60 and not $40, was twenty million. This was back in August, so the game has probably had a fair few extra sales since then.

 

I find that the game is popular, but there is minimal discussion to be had.

I feel like really all people can talk about is either a LFG kind of thread, or people complaining about updates and unbalances. I feel like there is only so much to be said about each

 

I understand but like cod it is a big game but not a section for it if there was ut be inactive some games are too good to need activeness g

 

To be honest, the initial hype surrounding Overwatch has died down drastically. PUBG has overshadowed Overwatch.
