    Baseball Guide

    II - The Outfield
    III - At Bat
    IV - Extra Information

    Baseball Basics

[IMG] Baseball, is an athletic sport. It consists of 9 Innings, 9 Players in the field, and A 9 Player Bat lineup (although sometimes they get a lucky inning stretch and get past 9players at bat). The Object of the game is to win, by getting Homeruns/Rbi's/ Running to home plate. Offical Baseball players, are part of the MLB (Major Leauge Baseball). The MLB consists of two leagues - the NL (National League) and the AL - (American League).

    The Outfield

[IMG] The outfield consists of 9 Players - The Pitcher,Catcher,1st-2nd and 3rd basemen, Right Fielder, Left Fielder, and the Center Fielder. Each have an different location, yet the same goal "Get them out." The dynamics of the Outfield is as follows -
Pitcher intends to throw to catcher, player at bat hits the ball, to eithier the 1st,2nd, or 3rd basemen, Left, right,or center fieldmen, possibly a popup to the catcher/pitcher.

    At Bat

[IMG] <- Mickey Mantle, # 8 of the NY Yankees, all-time great.

When an team is at bat, they are aiming to hit the ball, but not get out. There are three positives about being at bat ..
I - Allows your team to Advance in Points
II - Getting an Base,Double, Triple, or RBI Hit
    III - Hitting an Homerun

There are also negatives about being at bat ..
    I - Getting an Out
II - Calling the ball (arguing), possibly getting your Head Coach thrown out
    III - Striking Out

Further information for those above 6 , are listed below.

    Extra Information

    Scoring

Scoring, is probably the most important part of the game besides the sportsmanship. There are 3 ways to score..

    The 3 Ways

1 . Hits -Hitting an Base hit, an double, a triple, and running it in.
When hitting the ball, you can get a Base Hit (advance to 1st base), an Double (Advance to second base), an Triple (Advance to Third Base), and running in (From3rd base, running to home plate).

2 . RBI 's -Hitting the ball, usually deep or with errors made by the outfield, you hit an "inside the park homerun", where you run all 3 bases and to home, with the ball still being inside the park, these are particularly rare.

3 . Homeruns -Hitting an homerun is extremely fun to do, and it helps your team drastically. While hitting an Home-Run, you focus on the power in your legs/hips. Home-runs are out of the park, aka the term "See ya!".

Nicely done. But try to veer away from the sports guides. If you're applying for UE, the UE's like to know you have a wide knowledge base. :)

Well, I really didn't get into the sport play, like "hit the ball this way", but I see your point, I tried to keep on the intellectual side of The Guide. Thanks for the rating and etc, My UE Application is complete, I'm probably going to make a new guide to make up for my "slack" in the "How to Restore your PC" Guide.

    - This is my 2nd sport affiliated guide, the first one "Footbal Basics", is very more Detailed, because I relate to the spot better.

Nice guide except sorry to say but Micky Mantle was number 7. If I am correct he was originally number 6 because he was lined up with babe ruth, joe dimaggio etc. but he didn't like it so he got his number changed to 7. (I own the movie 61* :D)

Also for got to add ways of scoring with walks, hit by pitches, steals, sacrafice flies, bunts etc.

And maby add in some rules ex. infield fly, bunt third strikes, foul tips. Need any help I am a baseball umpire and know the game better then I know my acb's
