The drug legalization thread to end all others

All I do when I smoke bud is relax and think happy thoughts.

How is that dangerous?

 

i read everywhere online that it's impossible to od on marijuana, od mean over-dose... cuz ud have too consume 1/4 of your bodyweight.. how would you know if you overdosed on something?

 

Nausea (except with cocaine, the good stuff can make you nauseas).

Mostly I'd say its about your heart.

Uppers- extascy, cocaine, speed, etc.

Downers- marijuana (doesnt react with ANYTHING) anti-depressants, pain killers, so on.

dont mix them, i've heard it fucks up your heart rate.

 

They are endangered by those who commit dangerous acts while using the drugs. Punish them, not everybody.

Do you agree with me, that while you won't do something stupid, others would, right? cause in that case, the crime rate would rise up.
Socity preferes making more people safe, than... a couple of people being able to smoke.

 

Is the crime rate your moral standard? Would you establish and enforce a 9pm curfew, which would drop the crime rate further? What about cameras on every street corner, or in your home?

 

I'm almost 99% certain the US Gov. would turn the nation into a police state before they legalized drugs.

The "War on Drugs" is failing miserably, and eventually the government will have no choice but to address the issue. They will either spend even more of our tax money and try to crack down even more, and fail miserably, or they will give in, and tax the shit out of marijuana.

So, Jail time < 100% tax.

Well zzz....you could use that same stupid arguement about almost anything.

An example, fatigue:

-Driving while fatigued causes you to have a slower reaction time than normal and you are, most likely, not thinking clearly.

-Operating heavy machinery....same as above.

-Judgement is impaired because...you aren't thinking clearly.


I could pull this type of thing out of the air all day long. The issues here is that that is a straw man type or argument that has no actual relevance to the issue of the legalization.

 

You're right, the "war on drugs" is a colossal failure.

I have a feeling that marijuana might be legalized in the future - not even the most stubborn politician can ignore the evidence that it's really not that bad.

I'm pointing out a contradiction in your beliefs. You seem to value the crime rate above individual freedom, so why wouldn't you support such police-state actions?

 

I think all drugs that aren't artificially made should be legalized. Seeing that the effects really aren't that extreme and it's on this earth for a reason. Personally, I would never do any sort of drug unless it was legalized, for obvious reasons.

Freedom of choice.

We are individual human beings who also happen to be free thinkers. To be suppressed by a government for ANY of OUR choices is bullshit and goes against laws of nature, humanity, and the universe. Because we are individuals, we should be able to control anything and everything in our lives, without any type of intervention from anybody or anything (with the exception of course of nature, and the law of shit happens).

If we want to do something, then Goddammit we should be able to. Our soldiers go to war to supposedly defend our freedoms. I say, what freedoms?

Cocaine takes a surprisingly large amount for you to OD off of it.

It is however addictive if used excessively.

To me, it's more than about legalizing drugs. In the words of the Kottonmouth Kings...Legalize freedom.

 

Anything that you take too much of can kill you. Such as water. Why should marijuana be illegal? Because society is scared of it being dangerous for the people? I mean, I'm sure there should be an age limit but like anything else, it can be overdosed and end in death. Another thing people worry about is the effect of the drug effecting the behavior of people in public. EVERYTHING EFFECTS PEOPLE. For instance, sugar can cause an increase in energy, alcohol can result in being intoxicated, and many others. How is the effect of marijuana any worse than other legal depressant/stimulant?
