Home Made Rocket Fuel - "Jubbo"​

Before I start this guide I would like a moment to mention the hazards involved and I claim no responsibility for any damage or injury obtained by/or to anyone.

What the recipe will make:
This particular recipe will make approximately 500 grams of JUBBO, To make larger batches increase the ratio.



Equipment And Chemicals required:
• 200millilitres Water
• 325 Grams Kn03
• 170 Grams of Pure C6h120
• 5 Grams of Corn syrup
• Stove or Hot Plate ( Must be Outside)
• Wooden spoon
• Saucepan
• Measuring Cup
• Accurate scales
• Mixing Bowl
• Plastic Zipper Bag


What are these Chemicals:
kn03 is a commonly used fertilizer, It is also named "Saltpeter" or Potassium Nitrate.

C6h120, In its purest commercial sale for It comes as "Icing sugar" Yes the powdered stuff you buy to make for toping for cakes.

Jubbo is a compilation of several household and garden chemicals, it is reasonably simple to make but has a high danger rate. It is a rocket fuel commonly used in model rockets, that fly up to 50,000 feet. In a recent project rocketeers are trying to send a Jubbo rocket into space.

Jubbo is also commonly know as "Rocket Candy" This is because of its texture and its ingredients.

The actually process for making this isn’t very complicated, but needs to be followed.




Method:

1. Pour 100 milliliters Water into the mixing bowl
2. Mix in 325g of Potassium Nitrate into the bowl with the water
3. Add 170 Grams of the Icing Sugar
4. Add a teaspoon (5ml) of Corn Syrup to the mixture
5. Stir for 10 minutes until thick
6. Then pour/scoop the mixture into a saucepan
7. Turn your hotplate to Medium heat
8. PUT ON YOUR SAFETY EQUIPTMENT ( GLASSES, GLOVES ETC)
9. Once the heating source is on, place the saucepan on the heating source.
10. Stir constantly for 10 minutes, when the water has mostly dissolved Proceed to next step.
11. Turn the heat down to low and continue to stir until the mixture attains a peanut butter like texture.
12. Turn of the heating element and Take a bit of the mixture and put it on the table, Squash it into roughly the size of a quarter and let it dry for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile keep stirring the mixture. Beating it with the spoon will help too.
13. At this stage it should look like peanut butter but a bit thicker, almost like bread dough.
14. When the two minutes is over grab the piece you set to the side, and attempt to snap or crush it. If it does then the mixture is complete. If not Keep beating until so.
Storage:

When you have finished the mixture, it will go hard within minutes if it is not sealed properly.

Wrap in inside a Zip lock bag and store it in a refrigerator, To re melt the mixture just add some water to it and heat it up inside the saucepan again.



NEVER EVER EVER EVER PUT THE MIXTURE INSIDE THE MICROWAVE OR MAKE IT INSIDE A HOUSE, ALWAYS DO THIS OUTSIDE.

This mixture burns extremely fast and a if you light small piece laying on the ground it could fly of and start a fire.

You have now successfully made model rocket fuel. Keep a lookout for my guide on making rocket engines with this fuel.

Very easy :

mix KOH , Coal , S ( sorry dont know how to tell that in english) anwyway , KOH is found on that thing that makes tomatos grow faster , Coal for BBQ , and S if found in plumber shops . That powder hold in hand and try to light . It will explode badly

Anyone trying to buy kno3 in Australia must be over the age of 18. Or get someone that is over 18 to buy it for you. They must sign a dangerous goods form and have a valid reason for buying it.

For the substance Kno3 u might want to add that in some countries you need a license and in others it could be illegal alltogether.

the only way i know how to get some in Australia is off ebay from another member who lives in aussie.

and even then it could get confiscated

In australia you can buy it from gardening stores.

 

Aren't guides on "Bombs/Fuel involving chemicals" against Sythe's Rules? I remember someone posting a guide about making a bomb or something and it got deleted and the poster got a warning?

 

very nice guide, well written. Do you happen to know where to get Saltpeter? and if its legal in illinois? because i was looking for it to make smoke bombs, and saw it was an ingrediant here too.

If you dont know, do u know a comercialy sold substitute for Saltpeter?

Nice what would rocket fuel be used for?

 

For fueling rockets.

 

That is true, though you could probably use it for Go-karts... anything that will run with rocket fuel and wont hurt the machine.
