[Guide] Find out where your friends live

First, lets learn what IP addresses are,

First, you must get your victims IP address:


Way #1
First, go to an email from your friend, if you do not have any, ask them to email you, or use Way #2
After that, go to http://www.ip-adress.com/trace_email/ when using hotmail, you must first switch to the full version.
You should be able to get the IP, otherwise it's pretty easy because it says "X-Originating-IP: [xx.xx.xxx.xx]" in the coding.


Way #2
Make a forum site, you can do this by going to http://invisionfree.com
Have your friends join the site, then you can go to the Admin CP and put their name in the "edit user" thing, you can see their IP at the top of the page once you select their name, or you can look at their posts and there is the IP.




Now you can find where they live,
1. Go to http://www.ip2location.com/demo.aspx
2. Enter their IP address (Gotten in "First, you must get your victims IP address:") in the box,
3. Enjoy the knowledge
This info is not EXACT, you will not find their house or anything this way. Most of the time I used this it was within 50 miles, so you can pretty much find out around which town they live in.

Apparently with this, I live in El Paso, Texas, which is significantly off.

Hmm I map quested it and apparently it's off by like 450+ miles. Not even in the right state -.- Haha.

Either you didn't get the right IP, your using a proxy, you live somewhere that the site has not updated recently, or just find a new IP Geolocation thing to use!
Stop insulting me when it's just because of the Geolocation site!
I have tracked 3 people down to 5 miles, because they live in New York, or a popular city like that.

 

Stop flaming other members just because your guide fails. They were only giving back feedback and it seems 100% of all users on Sythe that used it said it didn't work. So this isn't a very good program, let alone guide.

This will not always work, and it only gives a generalization of their address, based on the location of their ISP.

If it was that easy to find something so vital as your address through something so trivial as an IP address, do you think we would still be using them? >__>

 

I wasn't insulting you. Nor am I a moron. I used my own IP adress (which I am sure IS CORRECT) to see if it could find even a general area close to where I live. Also I DO LIVE in a rather popular city so I don't see how that has anything to do with it...

This works pretty well for the U.S. in most cities, if you live in other countries it will probably be 3 times less accurate information or something.

God I hate you Runescape nerds, all you guys do is say "I'm going to ignore everything you say and insult you, because it makes me feel special, even though I'm not"


It works for me incredibly well to any other geolocation programs I could find, even if it doesn't work for you guys, even thoguh it does, because that distance is GENERAL, 150 miles away is pretty good, so this is the best you get, okay?
This is probably one of the best guides you will find, that wouldn't take you 100 years to figure out.

If you want a more accurate geolocation program, that's updated and stuff, buy the site's, or you can use mapquest if you NEED it on a map. Either way, this IS working, and it is as accurate as you will get without spending money and lots of time to figure it out.

 

No, It is not were you live, It's not because the site isn't updated, It's because that is the general location of the ISP.

1. You are a retard.
2. Learn more about the subject before you make a guide on it.
3. Do not yell at people for giving you feedback on your guide that deserved less than the credit they gave you for.
