    Runes, you could mage without stopping.
    Mana, cost less take longer to recharge though :/
    And I wouldn't like spending hell loads of cash on mana potions if I tried to max out my mage.

    What should the or form of magic energy be?

    Assuming casting spells levels magic, and not combat. Also I wonder about the xp system, do you get xp based on the monster you kill, or xp based on the damage you deal.

    well no because i see magic as this or any skill rather

    1. level 1-5 the magic you only know are the basics ice,fire,earth,water then as you level up in combat not leveling up the skill

    2. you level up in combat earns you a skill point to advance in your skill so you can further your knowledge in whatever class you chose to major in when you reach level 10 you can either pick up a new skill (hybrid) or continue to master the skill

    3. players that choose to max in a skill of course will be considered some type of pure but lacks defense but can never revert back to trying to become a hybrid.

    4.players that choose to hybrid will obviously be weaker then pures but will have the reward to optimize there there and technique in combat

    I am also liking the system were you gain points when you level up, I suggested this in a diferent post I made, I have never played a game were that happens.

    Charged Talismans.

    You get blank talismans and you can charge them at a stations for 50 charges, for 150g. Magic spells cost 1 charge to use. Different talismans give you different elements like runescape runes only SUPERCHARGED :D

    I will bash very hard on your idea of runes as you've gone about it all wrong. Runes are unrealistic....


    Wanna be realistic to a TRUE RPG?

    You have a spell book, and a certain number of spells you can cast from that spell book. That's how it was so supposed to be, and that's how TSR made it.

    Mana was an adaption to make it more friendly, but was also a way to limit the number of spells a person could cast in a set amount of time...

    It drains a mage to use magic, tires them out... That's the point. Just like it tires a fighter to continuously fight. Giving them the ability to infinitely cast unrealistic spells is not what any of you are aiming towards.


    You want more real graphics, more real story lines, more real game play, but childish unreal limitations.

    Runes = Too much magic
    Mana = A way to maintain the amount of magic a spell caster can use. Spell casters are not supposed to be solo anyways, they are supposed to be backed by a party and a party by them.

    I understand the ideas of 1 time runes/scrolls for spells the caster doesn't know well enough to understand the requirements completely, but come on...

    In fact, lets make it so the caster has to completely by the book, and MUST carry spell components...



    Point of all this... Choose your path more realistic, or gay. You can't be bisexual in making a game. You say you want a Runescape style when Runescape is the gayest game with shit for graphics, yet you GRIPE when anyone suggests NON first person play. Runescape isn't first person, and 90% of WoW players play in THIRD person. You can see more, and therefore it is better.

    Choose your path, stop riding the fence, and stop making suggestions that are all but useful.

    Deacon, your a dumbass, his idea was original, I see you complaining about everyones ideas, but not contributing any of your own, I have heard your "True RPG" speal a ton, why do you want to be like every other game. Also, about your "Realistic" idea, magic is fucking fake. Magic energy can be however we want it, not how "TSR" made it, because we aren't TSR. Plus, dont talk shit about RuneScape, RuneScape is a revolutionary game, how many other Java based games have you played that are that good, and that entertaining. Stop being a douche and try to be helpful.

    I'm sorry, I found merlin's cave to be better than runescape. It was good, and entertaining. Runescape was boring, and drawn out.

    For one, it's not an mmorpg, without rpg.

    TSR are the gods of RPGs, and you will respect them. You've done nothing with your life, so don't pretend to be better.

    I'll talk all the shit I want about runescape. It's a fucking shitty ass piece of crap game that kids who have no brain play.

    TSR are FORMS os RPG's, you keep talking about other RPG's, all games have there good points, yes, but why do you want this game to be just like others? or like a classic? We should make a new era, and now go back to the "Classics".

    Also, you do realize you're on a RuneScape cheating site right?
    Only brainless kids play it? RuneScape is an entertaining, long lasting game, I don't know of many other games that I could play for as long as I have played RuneScape.

    Well. If we are going mana, some people will place their stat points to mana. That's for sure, leaving the mages vulnerable to melee and range, since they didn't have enough stat points to use on life, dexterity etc.
    And if we chose Runes, it will become very expensive for new players in the end. Personally, i do like Mana best. It's just all about dispensing your stat points perfectly.

    well if mana is what i think it is (like a magic bar) then mana

    he doesnt mean "runes" as in "air runes / death runes" he means an item that is like that but not the same so its not copying ruinedscape
