[IRC] How to be a respectable user at SytheIRC

What to do...

1. Introduction
-Introducing yourself to us about who you are and where you are from is not really necessary when you first join. Usually what helps the best is to join a channel and greet yourself. After you have greeted yourself wait to see what the conversation is about and then join in. Joining in on a conversation and sharing your thoughts is a good way for the members to accept you (especially if you are intelligent). Eventually you should take off on a good note and people will respect you a lot more.

2. Grammar
-Grammar is a must have. No one wants you to come in a channel and start talking "liek i is nao". It is hard on some peoples eyes and makes you look stupid.

3. Willing
-Always be willing to help people out. People are always asking questions on how to do things. You helping them out makes them respect you a little better. Now I am not saying bend over back wards and give them all your possessions and what not, but help people make decisions and find things.

4. Respect
-This is probably the most important. If you want to be a respectable user than why not respect the people you talk to. The way I see it is, if you respect me I will respect you. Sure there are people out there that have no respect for a single person, but if you can get around that in people you should be good.

5. Channels
- Some channels where you will probably be most acquainted with people are channels like #Sythe, or #Eliteswitch. These are SytheIRC's two most popular channels. #Help is a good channel to help newer members out with. Knowing what your doing and helping others is a good way to get respect.


What not to do...
<b>1. Begging</b>
-Begging is very annoying for operators and everyone else. When you first join a channel and start asking for access it makes people avoid you and usually results in a ban.

2. Flaming
-Flaming multiple constantly isn't necessary. No one will respect you if you flame people all the time. SytheIRC can pick out the children just by looking at how you act to them.

3. Spamming
-Spamming is very unnecessary. You can easily type 10 words in a line than typing 1 every line. Flooding channels only results you in a ban.

4. Racism
-Although people might get a laugh out of your racist jokes. Racism is not something to be proud of. Your derogative comments can be kept to yourself as it may be offensive to some others. This has to do with Racial Slurs, Sexist comments, and others.

On the last note. Following this guide should help you out to be more of a respectable user. Some people on the SytheIRC Community can be a little harsh to people. Either you annoy them or you do something for them to not like you. You will eventually figure out that they are all good people in the end.

Ok guide, it's really basic though, and not very much detailed... seems the guide could use improvement on its presentation.

Nice guide, these 'rules' could be applied everywhere, including forums and also in real life. To an extent of course.
