Help me on userbar....... *first time*

This is my first try at photoshop so it looks weird



looking for advice and some help on how to make the images background same color as original background... can anyone help?
oh, and can some one tell me how can i put an outline
and i dont know how to add fonts can someone help?
Im useing photoshop cs3 extended portable

 

To make an outline, you can make a new layer, use rectangular marquee tool thing and cover the whole thing so the line is around the edge of the userbar, then go to edit-stroke I think.

Also take that top overlay off on the top half makes the picture blurry.. Just my thoughts =]

 

That is the - pin light setting - i used it cause it make the pin back ground blend in the orig back ground, that y i need help.........

 

Try lowering the opacity of that top rectangle?

Also there are 100's of programs for userbar making on the Internet.

 

I also believe adding font on the portable version is impossible, you're stuck with the defaults sorry =/
