Dispute Forum Debate Team
The "Dispute Forum Debate Team"(DFDT), would be made up of around 4 different "teams/groups", that took place in the Dispute Forum(something for all). 2 different teams verse each other, one match per week. Make about 4 teams. What would happen is, both teams are given an topic to debate about - for example ... Life On Mars : Waste Of Time, or not?. Now, one team would have to give their opinion on it NOT being an waste of time, and the other team would be giving their opinion on it NOT being an waste of time. What happens is, you create the team rankings, and each 4 teams, gets 1 head debater/captain. The CAPTAIN, is the only person who's allowed to reply to the question, and through his teams briefing, will know the answer. The team that expresses their opinion the best, wins, and Is the champion that week. I'm not sure as a reward, I was thinking a reward could be the fact that you're an intellectual human being who can afford an computer? Thank you for your time.

Sounds a strange idea but at first I thought you meant it was to decide the fate of whether members should be banned in each individual circumstance.
If people want to debate they can anyway so you can't only allow the people in this team to debate but there should be a thread for everyone to have their say

 

Well I mean, a debate team. Just like how user education team was set up, the debatees get an offical topic for;
Applying to the Debate Team - Apply to join the debate team
Something for all can remain* - Need to win like 5 debates to get into team
Debate Teams - Lists all 4 teams + members
Debates - Offical Debates

Now, the debaters are put into groups, and verse each other for pure competition, of the mind. Whoever wins, wins.

That makes sence though it just depends how many members would state their interest at a guess?

 

Well - 4 different teams.
I guess based on each persons state of mind, is where they're placed. Like... people who believe Obama should be president, have won 5 debates - go to Team Black, etc. I figure maximum of 30 members per groups, would base out forum... intelligence is required to join them. The Debate Captain can pick people from his team with an presented reason, that doesn't involve opinions.

Why would the captain kick the member?

Not based on his opinion of course, but by the members signs of interest, his signs of intellegience, his participation. It's like a coach watching a football player, if you don't do good - they'll cut 'ya from the roster.

Well, IDK how I can ensure that the Debate is controversial, but to make sure the debate teams both have different viewpoints ;
Team A - Tell us why you think Graffiti, should be legalizied everywhere?

Team B - Tell us why you think it should not.

Next, both teams confide in their captains, and then each captain Replies to the debate topic, answering it once, no Spam. The Answers, are then Judged by whoever sythe decides to put as a Head Debater, and Hopefully Sythe will make multiples of that ranking.

Would not work, 1. because it would cause too much flaming.
2. I think the community is fine how it is.
3. I like the idea but couldn't work.

 

How would their be flamming? For the actual debate - it requires you to have the ranking/membergroup of "Debate Captain" or "Debate Head User", etc. So that way, DEBATE TEAM MEMBERS, can only speak among themselves, and the actual Post to reply to the subject is only by the captain.

 

Well, it wouldn't be in the dispute forum, as that's for people to dispute their bans/infractions, but certainly something could be arranged in SFA.

I'd be interested, but we'd need to plan it out so it wouldn't be just talk.

Who would decide the winner? Seems like the decisions would be biased.
