How to convince my mom to let me get a peircing

So my mom won't let me get my lip periced but she will let me get pretty much anything else percied with in reason. She says that it looks bad and when you take it out it looks like you have a black head How can I convince her. I would be paying for it and sense I am only 16 I would need her consent. Any ideas?

 

Just go and get it done then put a plaster over it and say you have a cold sore.

 

I would personally suggest you don't..

You could always use the guilt thing, give her an example of something she did that you've asked her not to do..

Example: If she smokes, you've probably asked her not to. Just say "well you smoked and I've asked you not to" etc..

 

If worse comes to worse you can just wait it out. Only 2 years.

 

why would you want to? But if you really must, I agree with the guilt thing, but it may just piss her off, depending on her personality.

 

Tell her you will be able to squirt water or any liquid from the whole in your lip.

 

Getting a lip piercing is disgusting but I guess since you really want it just get it without her permission. Once you get it there isn't really much she can do but tell you to take it out.

 

Have one of your friends mom's sign it, more than likely she will let you keep
it after seeing its not that bad.

 

Get it pierced, go to your mom, be like, "see mom, it isn't thaaat bad.

 

Numb your lip with ice, get a needle, and poke it wherever you want the piercing. Easy as that. Just make sure the needle is sterilized.

Why would you tell him this? It's better for him to get it done professionally so it doesn't get infected and then his mom won't get so pissed.

 

I wouldn't do it. All my friends who got it done, regret it.

 

Don't be fooled, your mom has a good point of view, she doesn't want you to look like this . It'd make you look "barbaric" , or even "pimpish" if you get it a giant diamond-sized.

However, I doubt you'd even want to begin to look that that... man? female?


Just ask her kindly, if she rejects, ask again, if she says no twice, don't make her say "no" three times. If your mom is an "don't make me repeat myself" woman, lay off of it. Don't break house-hold rules, because parents do remember, if they remember you at age 3, they'll remember you at age 16, breaking their rules to SLIGHTLY change your appearance, so don't ask for the house downpayment loan from them if they don't like your decisions.

No, to breaking her rules.


Ask her kindly, show her this thread, with all of its replies, and see if she likes what she sees, she may not like the "cold sore" idea etc... but at-least it shows that you want her consent.

 

Well, you can explain to her about the benefits of piercing( if there's any) in a polite and patient manner. Do not shout to her if she told you numerous times.

 

I don't think she saying no because she thinks it going to be ugly, I think shes just saying it to assert her authority as your parent. When she says no agree with her (like "hmm ya it might be uncomfortable") make it seem like its not that big of a deal her saying no. Do this for a bit and she'll change her mind, and everyone leaves happy.

Well I gotta agree with that mate. My friend pierced his tounge(as he thinks it's very cool) and wanted to take out back. I saw some stuff at his tounge, like a very very small tumour growing lol. You will suffer teeth and gum disease dude. So please, do not pierce .

Talk to her, tell her you will be responsible with it, wash it twice a day or whatever it is, if not, then you lose it. I don't really see the problem with one, my girlfriend has one, I think its pretty cool. My mom didn't want my brother getting one because she says the inner part of the piercing could do damage to the gums or teeth, but I've also heard it does very little damage if even any at all.
