Should I make a return to RS?

Hey guys, recently just put up my introduction thread since I'm new to this site, was recommended to join from an old friend of mine who used to use it in the past and told me to join it if I do end up playing the game again to make some $$$ on the side.

I'm in a bit of a rut at the moment though in regards to whether or not I want to come back to the game. I've been a huge fan of RS for years but quit back in 2011 when dicing was around in the game. I've played the game as far back as 2006 I think? And I have fond memories of it, and didn't even know Oldschool Runescape was even out! I'm still quite shocked to see it's already been out since 2013, I've certainly missed quite a few years of time I could've spent playing it. I had a look at the base game (RS3) a while back but it looked completely different and sort of a generic MMO type game, and I've seen quite a few people state it's heavily affected by micro transactions? Again, I haven't played since 2011 so I'm used to the old type of RS and Oldschool seems awesome since it's what I was used to back then and seems updated and fresh still even all these years later.

But my main concern is, is the game still completely grindy? Like has any of the new updates added to Oldschool Runescape changed the game dramatically? I'm looking for the old experience I used to enjoy back in the day, like questing, grindy skilling and moneymaking etc, is that still a thing or is it different nowadays? I know someone's probably going to comment "well why not just play the game and see for yourself?" or "watch videos online and see for yourself" but I really can't remember much lol. Would be good to get some insight from people who still play so yeah. Any advice would we greatly appreciated.

You can make good amount of money with this game while playing so why not dude ?

Trust me, its better to just work full time and maybe play for fun a couple hours a day.

If I were to do a ratio with hours worked and GP per hour, theres no comparison

 

Just play RS for fun in complete moderation and enjoy the game for what it is.

 

The game has actually been updated heaps, there is so much new content that wasn't there in 2007. I'd say give it a go

 

don't play this game trying to make money . especially if ur meathod is the sand casino . it will ruin you .
