If You Could Change Three Things About RS3...

What would they be? I’ve been inactive since my senior year of college, so from 22-23 and I’m about to be 26 come the 20th of November. My reason why was/is simple, I’m unsatisfied with the gameplay style. At first glance, I gave EOC a chance but then it became more and more nuanced and required hot keys, a quality keyboard, etc etc. I’m not a fan of WoW whatsoever and that’s who the game has succumbed to along with MapleStory in my opinion.

My three things would be as follows

1.) Ownership—Gower would return as the predominant share holder
2.) Eliminate Evolution of Combat
3.) Limit microtransactions

(Runner-ups, update account security, eliminate the RSOF as every J-Mod and their child is attached to the hip of r/Runescape, focus on enriching current content e.g. revamping obsolete skills.)

My apologies if a thread such as this exists but I would like to know other’s thoughts on this otherwise crucial topic. It also knocks the cobwebs off of this particular category.

 

1. rs3 was never released
2. keyboard was never released
3. waste time and start freshscape was never released.

if only I could change 1 of those 3 things.

 

Literally everything, the game sucks lol. there's a reason why people who played rs 10 years back were wayyyy more than ones that play the new version.

 

I think RS3 is actually a great game, I wouldn't change anything tbh.

 

If I could change anything about RS3, I would go back to when they removed the wilderness & free trade, and make it so that never happened.

I would make it so the evolution of combat didn't happen.

I would have made the graphics upgrade optional.

I find RS3 Evolution of Combat took away from the game big time, and everything else that followed.

That's why last night

RS3 32,000 players
OSRS 130,000

Nuff'said

 

1- No treasure hunter
2- No runecoins
3- No mtx

Those 3 things would revive rs3

 

I'd have to disagree with those reviving RS3.
It's dead, 30,000 opposed to 130,000 OSRS players last night.
RS3 will NEVER be revived.

Muhahaha.

 

Well yeah.. at this stage there's no way RS3 could go back to where it was in the days

I think number one, or atleast close to number one, on most people's list would be the EoC. The removing wilderness and free trade back in 07 or whenever, was what officially killed runescape as us older players knew it. Everything else from EoC onwards in Rs3, was just beating a dead horse. No wonder OSRS is doing so much better consistently in terms of user base than RS3.

 

1.) Enable players to use their gold as a payment method for microtransactions (without bonds etc) - would be a good money sink.
2.) Eliminate Evolution of Combat
3.) Release different versions of the game on different servers to eliminate private servers.
