I'm not a christian, muslim or any of that stuff. I just know there's a God and I don't follow religion but I have faith in God. So when arguing with me don't bring up the Bible or anything. I just know there is a God.

Sometimes atheist assert that there is no proof that God exists. The only problem is that an atheist cannot logically make that claim.

In order to state that there is no proof for God's existence, the atheist would have to know all alleged proofs that exist in order to then state that there is no proof for God's existence. But, since he cannot know all things, he cannot logically state there is no proof for God's existence.

At best, an atheist can only state that of all the alleged proofs he has seen thus far, none have worked. He could even say that he believes there are no proofs for God's existence. But then, this means that there is the possibility that there is a proof or proofs out there and that he simply has not yet encountered one.

    Here's a quote:

Nevertheless, if there was a proof that truly did prove God's existence, would the atheist be able to accept it given that his presuppositions are in opposition to the existence of God? In other words, given that the atheist has a presuppositional base that there is no God, in order for him to accept a proof for God's existence, he would have to change his presuppositional base. This is not easy to do and would involve a major paradigm shift in the belief structure of the atheist. Therefore, an atheist is presuppositionally hostile to any proofs for God's existence and is less likely to be objective about such attempted proofs.

What is generally meant is that out of the proofs the atheist has witnessed, they all fail.

To admit the possibility of God's existence does not make his existence and nonexistence equiprobable. Santa Claus is logically possible, as are fairies, demons, trolls, pink ravens, and unicorns.

It depends on how your atheism was arrived at. If it is a dogmatic belief which you hold as true, then interpret the evidence as such, then yes, they are biased. However, if it is logic and reason which you hold to be true, and they have pronounced the proofs of God to be invalid, then you are an unbiased observer.

    Your Religious Denomination

I don't follow an organized religion. My spirituality is based on personal experience and includes things I've learned through meditation, hallucinogenic trips and just living my life. I do not believe in a god like the one most of you think of. God is more like a universal spirit. I do believe the universe was created by the big bang, but for what reason I can not say yet. I feel one day I will know why there is something instead of nothing, but at this point in time I simply do not know.

I do go to a chrisitan church on Sunday because my parents won't let me do my own thing with religion until I'm 18. So I got a tad over a year to go with this. It saddens me to see so many "religious" people SOOO out of touch with the truth. Eh, whatever.
