How To Prevent Remote Access To Your Computer!

I was looking through my computer, and found something handy. This will prevent Remote Access/Management to your computer, which is perfect if you have something like a backdoor program/trojan. Please realize I am using Windows Vista, with the sexiness-theme gone. I do not know if this is different for Xp.

    Welcome To My Ninth Guide.

First up, head over to the start menu, then Control Panel. Click it. :)

From Control Panel, scroll down to System.

On the left hand side of this screen, you will see something similar to this:

After confirming you want to enter onto that page, it will look like this.

    Head over to "Remote".

Now listen up. You can un-tick this box, however, this simply means that programs like TeamViewer will not be allowed to let you ask for help from other people. This may be good or bad for your needs. :)

    But that's not all!

After you've pondered the monumental decision about whether or not to tick the box, head to the Advanced bar, and click it.

Un-tick that box, and huzzah! Remote-access programs will be unable to control your computer. Be careful though, because they can still find your computer. And then it's possible to exploit. ;)

However, if you don't want to stop control altogether (teamviewer etc), you can choose the amount of time the program can remain in control.

I hope I have helped you in your quest for computer safety. <3
