From Maxed Barrow’s Pure to Maxed “Ferocious Pure”

The title is a bit of satire, however; this discussion is on the new gloves being released.
Currently my main, is a Maxed 75 Def Barrow’s Pure ( 99 Str Range Mage Hp )
Sitting @ 110 CB
The new Ferocious gloves coming with the updates, are now the BIS for gloves, when using only melee.
They will have a stat gap difference similar to that of Fury VS Torture
With a negative set effect towards range and mage.

Barrow’s gloves Stat bonus:
(Attack bonus)
• 12+ Stab Slash Crush Range
• 6+ Mage
(Defense Bonus)
• 12+ Stab Slash Crush Range
• 6+ Mage

(Other Bonus)
+ 12 Strength

Proposed New Ferocious Gloves:
(Poll is winning)
(Attack Bonus)
• 16+ Stab Slash Crush
• -16 Range Mage

Other Bonus:
+14 Strength


The catch is, they require 80 Def & 80 Att.
This will boost my combat level, from 110 to 112

I’m 99% sold on the idea of leveling my account to meet those requirements for the gloves, as I already fight 112’s+, shoot in PVP I’m frequently fighting 120’s+
This is now the BIS for that spot in both PVP & PVM, I’d love to still have a “Pking” build, but without any limitations.
The downfall is the Mage and Range Bonus, so in your guy’s opinion, do you think this will become the “New” Barrow’s Pure / Med LVL Build standard?
Or will people still favor the 75 Att & 75 Def build, over the 80 & 80?

 

Are those new gloves tradeable and where you can get them? And are you scared of more t80 equipment being released which will feed the powercreep problem? Btw it’s very nice that you are so active in the osrs progress section and always entertaining us with new interesting posts. Keep it up pal!

 

They're adding another max hit? Jesus, we will be seeing 90 AGS specs soon lmfao.

I think 2 CB's for one max hit is quite dependent on how often you're fighting the lower combats of your bracket. If you like rushing these lower levels then maybe it isn't the best choice for you. Otherwise, its new content and would be fun!

I'd definately wait though, they frequently change the stats, even after updates!

Yes I believe it will be the new meta, for melee fights. Its only a couple combat levels higher.

 

They will be a drop from Alchemical Hydra (95 Slayer)
They are tradeable when broken.
When you take them to Erdan in the Myths guild and he repairs them, at that point, they are Untradeable.
Which this is what I am unsure of, it says when you die in PVP instances, they go back to their tradable form, so I am not sure if this means that you LOSE them when you die in PVP or not.
So this kinda sheds like on your next question, IF you lose them when you die in PVP, I think this would combat the power creep.
Honestly, I would be okay with another “tier” of equiptment at the “80”s lvl
As pretty much, majority of Cb related items Cap @ 75.
So, we can see an actual scale of the tiers.
This is also locked behind 80 Def, so it makes it Med - Max main exclusive, so its a great item for high lvl players in PVP.
Sooo lots that go with it man, A lot is still unclear to me, but I think been Meta for high lvl acc’s.

Yeah; you’re 100% right, definitely want to wait to lvl it until they smooth it out.
That would suck to lvl you acc only to have that item you lvled for, balanced / Nerfed LOL

Also, let it be known, I see this update as foreshadowing for upcoming updates.
One to mention, I believe Warding is going to offer a chance to make Magic BIS gloves.

First of all I don't think there is such a thing as a Barrows Pure - the term pure has been dismantled and mangled.
On another note, I think it's worth it to level your account to support max strength bonus on it.
You're already level 110.

 

“Barrow’s Pure”
has been a type of RS build since 2005.
Google “Barrows Pure” and watch thousands of vids/posts/responses pop up.
I concur with you on some levels, but as I stated on your thread, the word “Pure” evolved a LONG time ago.
It’s a far more loosely used term that is really now utilized to describe / when an acc is made for a specific thing or has a specific stat.
“Obby Pure, Rune Pure, Void Pure, Piety Pure.”
The list goes on

“Pure” is basically just a way to describe a specific build & how an acc is built, to make that acc the meta, for that specific build type.

 

i would say it might change the "Dharok pker" build as its 100% melee and the bonus is worth the extra combat lvls however the - range and - mage attributes severely impact a hybrid/tribrid setup which 9/10 of the 75att/defence builds pk with imo
